Where to Watch One Piece? (Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Crunchyroll, or Amazon)

Where to Watch One Piece? [The Complete Guide]

One Piece is an anime is based on the manga One Piece by Eiichirō Oda and goes back to 1998, when a 30-minute OVA was produced on the occasion of the previous year’s success in the Shōnen Jump and the 30th anniversary of the Jump Super Anime Tour. Production of the television series began the following year, and over 900 episodes have appeared since then, as of November 2021.

Today, One Piece can be watched on Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Funimation. Amazon Prime doesn’t offer the series as part of its streaming service, but individual episodes can be bought for watching via Amazon.

The show is enormously popular and if you plan on starting it, here is a detailed guide on where and how you can watch One Piece from the comfort of your home.

Where to Watch One Piece?

One Piece is by most standards one of the most popular anime series in history. Still ongoing, slowly going towards its 1000th episode, One Piece is a true classic when it comes to anime. The series is popular around the world and has been broadcast in multiple countries around the world in different languages.

Now, you may be an old fan, you may not be a fan yet, or you may be someone who’s new to the world, but you’re nevertheless going to search for a place to watch One Piece.

This might be somewhat difficult to find, as not all people are skilled with browsing through streaming services. That is why we have composed this guide for you, in which you will find out where you can watch One Piece from the comfort of your homes if you’re not in Japan and don’t have the opportunity to watch it directly on a TV. So, where can you stream One Piece? Here is the list:

  • Netflx
  • Hulu
  • Crunchyroll
  • Funimation

HBO and Disney+ don’t have One Piece available for streaming, as well as Amazon Prime, but Amazon does have the whole series in its store, which means that you cannot actually scream it, but you can purchase each episode individually if you want to watch it.

Is One Piece on Netflix?

OP

One Piece is available on Netflix, but there are certain restrictions and it is not available in every country; Asian markets are the safest bets, even when the movies are concerned. In addition to that, One Piece can be streamed on Netflix with a £5.99 per month subscription, meaning no premium subscription is required.

It might be a little disappointing that a leading network like Netflix didn’t make One Piece available for streaming around the world. We don’t know the exact reason for this, but we assume that it has to do something with the licensing and distribution rights.

As far as the future of the series is concerned, seeing how Netflix is working on a live-action adaptation of One Piece, it is plausible that Netflix will make the whole anime available for streaming globally, but we might have to wait a bit for that to happen.

Netflix is doing a great job in providing its subscribers with great streaming content, but it does have some restrictions. So if you live in a country with geographic restrictions, you may not be able to watch One Piece on Netflix even with a full subscription. And yes, in case you were wondering, you can check directly on Netflix to see if your country is geographically restricted.

If you live in a geographically restricted country, you will not be able to watch One Piece unless you change your location. However, read on to find out where you can watch all seasons of One Piece no matter where you are.

Is One Piece on Amazon Prime?

OP Amazon

Amazon doesn’t have all the episodes of One Piece, as we managed to see. They have roughly 11 of the 20 seasons, with the most recent episodes being those from 2014. New episodes are, still, unavailable.

Secondly, it is not possible to stream these on Amazon or Amazon Prime. This means that you actually have to buy each individual episode to watch them; the price is $1.99 for older episodes and $2.99 for the more recent ones. Also, it’s very unfortunate that having a Prime membership does not help, as you can not use it to stream One Piece either.

So, if you want to watch One Piece via Amazon, you have to buy each individual episode (or whole season batches), but do remember that the site has only about half of all the episodes of the show. In addition to this option, you can also rent copies on Amazon Instant Videos, Google Play, Vudu, and iTunes.

One advantage of the rent or buy option on Amazon is the lack of restriction, either in time or location. Anywhere in the world, you can buy any available season or episode of One Piece, which is a good thing since some streaming services don’t offer their full slate for all countries.

Another note: once rented, you have only a limited amount of time to watch each episode for the same price, whereas with a purchased copy, you have unlimited time.

Is One Piece on HBO?

One Piece is unfortunately not available to watch on HBO Max. We don’t know the exact reasons behind this, especially since HBO Max shares some of its anime programmings with other streaming services, but if you have an HBO Max subscription, you won’t be able to watch One Piece.

However, if you have a free trial or ongoing subscription to HBO Max, you can access a lot of other great anime shows, some of which are true classics that need to be watched regardless of whether you’re a fan or not. Some great anime on HBO Max include Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Re:ZERO.

Is One Piece on Disney+?

Disney+ does not contain a single episode of One Piece, which, as we have elaborated above, isn’t surprising in any way. Disney+ is generally very restrictive when original content created by other studios is concerned, and anime is not just that, it is also direct competition for Disney.

However, if you do not mind Western animation, Disney+ offers quite a few of them. One of these animated series is The Simpsons, which is still very popular with 33 seasons as of November 2021. Some other similar shows, both animated and live-action, that might attract your attention include Gravity Falls, The Mighty Ducks, and the Star Wars series, including the very popular The Mandalorian.

Is One Piece on Hulu?

OP Hulu

If you’re a subscriber to Hulu, you’ll be rejoiced to know that Hulu has One Piece on its slate. Hulu is not one of the major players in the world of streaming, but nonetheless, it offers great content for its subscribers.

Hulu offers live-action shows and movies, as well as anime, and One Piece is among the anime series offered on the service. The main issue is that Hulu is not available around the world and that even if you have the right to access it, you won’t get the full slate.

Namely, Hulu offers only a limited amount of episodes – as far as we know, it is 11 seasons as of November 2021 – available. As One Piece is currently airing its 20th season, the offered content encompasses about 50% of the whole series.

So, if you’re a Hulu subscriber, you’ll be able to watch a big chunk of the One Piece anime, but you have to be aware that it’s not actually the whole series and that you’ll have to check out some other sources if you want to see what happens after season eleven of this globally popular series.

Is One Piece on Chrunchyroll?

VCRX2020 OnePiece

One Piece is, of course, available on Crunchyroll and it is currently the only source of its kind that has all the episodes and is updated regularly, which is why we definitely recommend it as your primary source for watching One Piece online. The slate currently has 999 episodes as of the time of writing this article.

So, if you want to watch all of One Piece, Crunchyroll is your best option if you ask us.

Is One Piece on Funimation?

Funimation_logo_opening_5

Funimation is a great source to watch One Piece, but while it is known for offering high-quality dubs, it has its downsides. It’s not free, it doesn’t have the whole series (as far as we are aware, it has only 12 seasons), and it is available in a very limited number of countries.

These are serious downsides, especially when you compare Funimation to Crunchyroll. Funimation is a good source, but it’s a limited source. It offers high-quality content, but not all of it, which is why it’s not the first source you should look at.

Where to Watch One Piece for Free?

Most streaming services, and we have to be fair there, offer their content for a certain subscription, or, in the case of Amazon, via a pay-per-view model. Now, there are, luckily for us, some completely legal streaming services that allow you to watch their content for free.

The best known among them is Crunchyroll, which offers the whole show completely free of charge, dubbed and subbed, whichever you prefer. For those countries where the services are available, Pluto TV and Tubi also offer the show for free, but you cannot stream all the episodes.
