This year’s SDCC delivered some fascinating and thrilling revelations. The highlight of the evening was the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU, this time as Doctor Doom. Kang has been removed as the main villain of the Multiverse Saga, and ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ has been retitled ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’

With RDJ back, many fans hoped for the possibility of ‘Iron Man 4,’ but the chances of that happening are nonexistent.

Before ‘Captain America: Civil War’ was released, the actor famously stated, “I feel like I could do one more.”

Since then, much has happened, and his story unfolded in several key films: ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and three additional ‘Avengers’ movies. These appearances collectively led to his heroic death, marking one of the most significant moments in the MCU.

As far as we know, Iron Man, at least the Iron Man of Earth-616, won’t be seen in the MCU anymore. Feige himself has repeatedly stated that revisiting his death is off the table. Theoretically, Iron Man could get a fourth movie in the form of a prequel, similar to Black Widow. However, there’s a good reason not to pursue that path either.

RDJ’s announcement as Doctor Doom received a somewhat mixed reception, primarily because fans worry they won’t be able to separate the actor from his iconic role as Iron Man. These concerns are valid.

Creating a fourth Iron Man movie now, while the MCU is trying to establish RDJ as Doom, would undermine the new character’s development.

Currently, there is no news about a potential fourth Iron Man movie, but we will update you if anything changes!
