X Men 97 Producer Discusses Future Cameos New Characters Ill Let the Footage Speak for Itself

‘X-Men ’97’ was a huge hit for the studio. The show debuted with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and both fans and critics agreed that it’s a faithful adaptation of the original ‘X-Men: The Animated Series’ from the ’90s. The creators aimed to recreate the original characters and animation, with many of the original voice actors returning to reprise their roles.

Recently, Captain America was hinted at making an appearance in the show, sparking speculation among fans about potential future cameos and which characters might be included. This speculation intensified after some of the most prominent mutants in the show were killed off in an emotional episode 5, serving as a prelude to what’s to come.

Jake Castorena, the head director and producer of the show, recently spoke with Screen Rant to discuss what fans can expect in the future.

Yes… [laughs] Unfortunately, I will leave it there because you need to get through season one first. But yes, an absolute yes, some personal favorite characters and some that may have been in the OG show and that we’ve seen before, maybe glimpses in some that we may not have seen animated before. But you will just have to stay tuned in to find out. But yes, I can confirm that there will be cameos and new characters and it will be good.

Regarding the tease about Captain America, he also mentioned:

you’re gonna see cameos and while I will hesitate to confirm verbally who we will see, [I’ll] let the footage speak for itself and let you ponder that how much you will but what I can say is, something that I spoke with earlier and a talking point that comes up with this episode in particular, are consequences.

In the upcoming episodes of ‘X-Men ’97’ season 1, the aftermath of the Genosha massacre will be felt, bringing in other Marvel characters and widening divides among the mutants. The mystery behind the attack intensifies as different theories are disproven.

Beau DeMayo has hinted that episodes 8-10 will be mind-blowing for fans. Got anything to share? Drop a comment below!
