‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Is Already Locked in for a Fourth Season According to Latest Reports
Marvel Animation rarely commits to a series before audiences have even had a chance to watch it, but ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man‘ broke that mold from the very beginning. The show secured renewals for both a second and third season before its first episode even aired, a level of confidence Marvel almost never extends to a brand-new property.
That early faith has continued paying off. The series debuted on Disney+ in January 2025 to widespread critical acclaim, earning praise for its writing, humor, and distinctive comic-inspired animation style, all of which helped justify Marvel’s decision to lock in its future so quickly.
Now that pattern of confidence appears to be extending even further. According to a new report, ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ has been greenlit for a fourth season, with new seasons expected to premiere annually going forward, typically around January.
That release cadence lines up directly with comments Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum made shortly after the show’s debut. Speaking with The Movie Podcast, Winderbaum expressed his hope for a consistent yearly schedule going forward. “We will have a Spider-Man season every year if I have anything to say about it,” he explained, acknowledging that the gap between Season 1 and Season 2 would likely be longer than subsequent gaps, “but then after that, it should come out on an annual cadence, hopefully.”
That timeline has already started to bear out. Season 2 is confirmed for a fall 2026 release, introducing major new elements including the Venom symbiote, Gwen Stacy, and the return of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, alongside returning threats like Doctor Octopus, Chameleon, and Scorpion.
Created by Jeff Trammell, known for his previous work on ‘Craig of the Creek’ and ‘The Owl House,’ the series follows Peter Parker in a divergent MCU timeline, one where Norman Osborn, rather than Tony Stark, mentors him at Oscorp. That shift gives the show room to explore familiar Spider-Man mythology through a genuinely fresh lens, distinct from Tom Holland’s version of the character in the mainline MCU.
The show’s first season currently holds an impressive 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, reflecting just how well the series has resonated with both critics and fans since its debut. Hudson Thames voices Peter Parker, reprising the role from Marvel’s animated series ‘What If…?,’ alongside Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn and a cast that includes Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Hugh Dancy, Kari Wahlgren, and Zeno Robinson.
Marvel Animation’s willingness to commit multiple seasons ahead of time reflects a broader strategy of building long-term investment in projects it believes in, rather than waiting to gauge initial reception before planning further ahead. For a series that had to prove itself entirely on the strength of its writing and character work, without leaning on Holland’s established big-screen version of the character, that early vote of confidence has clearly paid dividends.
With Season 2 already locked for this fall and Season 3 confirmed to follow, a Season 4 renewal would mark the show’s fourth consecutive season secured well ahead of schedule, an unusually stable position for any animated series navigating Marvel’s often unpredictable television landscape.

If Marvel truly settles into the annual release rhythm Winderbaum described, fans could be looking at a new season of ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ arriving like clockwork each January moving forward. Given how much groundwork Season 2 is already laying with major new characters and storylines, a confirmed fourth season suggests Marvel has ambitious, long-term plans for this particular corner of its animated universe.
