When writing this article, the Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible manga series is quite alive and well. But there is a catch. Namely, in February 2023, the publisher and the author confirmed that Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible was entering its final arc. We still don’t know how long the said arc will be and when publication will end, but the Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is nearing its end that we can confirm. It might still be a while before we actually reach the final chapter, as we don’t have any clue about the final arc’s length or the number of volumes it will be divided into, but you have been informed about the series’ future now.

Is the Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible anime over?

On May 13, 2022, a 12-episode anime adaptation produced by Pine Jam was announced. Kazuomi Koga was hired to oversee the production, while Yūya Takahashi wrote the screenplays for the episode. The character designs were entrusted to Yoshiko Saitô, and finally, Hiroaki Tsutsumi was hired to compose the soundtrack for the series. The opening credits theme was “Dramatic Janakutemo” by Kana Hanazawa, the voice actress who voices Nagisa Kubo, the series’ female protagonist, while the ending credits are “Kasuka de Tashika” by Dialogue+.

The broadcast of the anime in Japan began on January 10, 2023, simultaneously on the Hidive platform in North America and, in Europe, from January 31, 2023, on ADN. But, the series’ regular airing schedule was interrupted in February with Episode 6 due to the effects of the COVID-19 epidemic on the production schedule; this also happened to some other series. It was announced that the series would resume airing in April from the first episode. Subsequently, the first six episodes are scheduled to be released on DVD and Blu-ray, only in Japan, on April 26, 2023, and the last six on June 28, 2023.

The season was organized as follows:

The general aspect we have said about the manga above can also be applied to the anime series. But the situation is a bit different. Namely, the anime adaptation of Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is still ongoing, and we know that a 12-episode first season was scheduled to air until it was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic halting production. This means that, after Episode 6, which is probably going to air on February 14, 2023, we’ll have to wait until April, when the whole series will start from Episode 1 and (hopefully) reach Episode 12 without interruptions.

Having said all of this, we can confirm that the first season of Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible is still ongoing and is not near its end due to the circumstances explained above. But, seeing how the manga will probably end before a second season is produced, we don’t know about the series’ future. We also don’t know how much of the story will be adapted in these 12 episodes, so many details about the anime’s future are uncertain.

We can confirm that the anime is still ongoing and that we’ll see the 12 episodes when the series returns from its hiatus. After that? Well, the future is still quite unclear.
