Afterward, Blackbeard asked him to join his crew, and while Kuzan initially refused to accept, he changed his mind after Blackbeard told him that he was not a World Government man and that he had the freedom to do what he wanted.

The rest of this article will be about Aramaki, also known as Ryokugyū, his backstory, and his role in the world of Oda’s One Piece series. Aramaki’s alias is Ryokugyū, which means “Green Bull” in Japanese

Aramaki’s backstory is mostly unknown, save for the fact that – according to his own words – he had completely stopped eating about a year before the story began. He was appointed admiral alongside Fujitora after Kuzan resigned and Sakazuki was promoted, as these two facts created two vacancies that Aramaki and Fujitora filled.

He was briefly seen, although in the form of a silhouette, during the Levely Arc in Mary Geoise’s Pangaea Castle; he had the task of making Fujitora leave, but instead, the two of them sat down for a cordial conversation about Vegapunk and the Seven Warlords of the Sea. His first major appearance was in Wano.

After the Levely, Aramaki leaves in the direction of the Wano Country and, when he approaches, interferes in the communication between the Five Elders and an agent of the CP0 to ask the latter to stay where he is and to affirm that he will soon reach the position of he. A week later, Sakazuki calls him to find out where he is and reveals that he has just sighted Wano Country; his superior then tells him not to do what is unnecessary, so Ryokugyū replies that he is aware of it and tells him to be calm.

Having reached the prison of Udon, which he covers with flamboyant vegeration, he absorbs the life force of the Beasts Pirates present and kicks Queen, whom he orders to surrender, as it would make a bad impression if he were defeated by simple officers, pointing out that the Navy can’t send anyone to clean up that mess. He then complains about the quality of the sake, pointing out that it should still be fermented. He then requests a warship, ordering him not to let Sakazuki know as he admires him and wants to be commended by him for taking out the Straw Hat. Then he hears the party music in the Flower Capital and heads there, cursing the pirates there and the havoc they have wrought on the world.

While stating that gaining influence, however, desired, is hard to come by, he runs into Denjiro, Shinobu, Raizo, Kawamatsu, Inuarashi, and Nekomamushi, to whom he tells them not to get in his way, while they recognize him as a member of the Navy and therefore an enemy of their pirate allies. The admiral begins to unleash his powers and asks what they think they know about the world outside the Wano Country, whose deities are the World Nobles, stating that if they are not part of the World Government, they are his enemies.

He then declares that man has the need to create socially inferior beings, and it is thanks to non-affiliated countries like that that this is possible as they guarantee discrimination, adding that, therefore, he would not violate the law even if he killed thousands of local inhabitants, which is willing to do to capture the Straw Hat, challenging those before him.

Yamato, however, joins them and replies that what he said is unforgivable, attacking him in the head with his weapon. Aramaki is wounded and points out the power of the girl’s Armament Haki, to which he asks who he is. Proclaiming that he will not allow anyone to spoil the celebrations for his newfound freedom after twenty years of tyranny, Yamato introduces himself as Kaido’s son, surprising his opponent.

Kozuki Momonosuke arrives in dragon form and agrees with the girl, claiming that they won’t allow him to annoy their saviors and tries to attack him with an energy wave, failing, so he bites him and pushes him away from the capital since he declares that he has the promise to keep with his people. Aramaki is amazed because he has never heard of a power capable of transforming someone into a pink dragon. However, he grabs the latter with gigantic gods, who refuse Yamato’s help even though he is having the worst of it.

Raizo releases flames at him, who pretends to catch fire but remains unharmed, telling him that defeating a Navy admiral like that doesn’t seem too trivial. He then pierces the ninja and dehydrates him, then he also grabs the others with his powers, emphasizing that they can’t do anything against mother nature and that if Kaido hadn’t been defeated, he wouldn’t have come here, claiming that while it might be difficult to expect, but it was really the power of the former emperor that kept enemies away from Wano, reiterating that he is willing to leave if the Straw Hat is handed over to him.

Hearing the dragon refuse to help others because the burden of defending the Wano Country is on them, which they would never be able to do by relying on others, Aramaki says that they are children and that it is pitiful. Momonosuke tells him to leave, and unexpectedly, he manages to emit two waves of energy that pierce and set fire to the admiral’s plant body. The latter composes himself at another point and asks him if he wants to burn the whole city, which is fine with him, pointing out that he has nothing in common with Kaido but that he would impale him from head to tail.

At that point, however, he perceives Shanks’ Conqueror Haki, who orders him to stop, sensing that the latter’s crew is nearby. Not wanting to fight them, he decides to retreat. Aramaki arrives on Sphinx Island to reinforce some Marines who had been attacked by Edward Weeble, a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, before their disbandment. Here the admiral defeats and captures the pirate, taking him away aboard a warship.
