‘One Piece’: How Is Uta Connected to the Figarland Family?
The One Piece Film: Red was a truly interesting addition to the overall One Piece lore and a worthwhile addition to the series. And while the movie is not considered to be canon, the characters that have appeared in it were made canon, and in this article, we are going to – once again – talk about Uta, the principal character of the movie, and Shanks’ adopted daughter. In light of the recent manga revelations, Uta’s past has once again entered the spotlight, and we can now actually explain whether there is a connection between Uta and the recently-made-canon Figarland Family that was initially mentioned in the One Piece Film: Red.
As far as it is known, Uta is not directly related to the Figarland Family family of One Piece. The initial idea of a connection between them came from an in-movie comment made by the Five Elders, who speculated that Uta might be a member of the Figarland Family due to her relation to Shanks, but this suggests that they did not know that Uta was actually Shanks’ adopted daughter. Shanks might somehow be related to the Figarland Family, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
The rest of this article will further focus on Uta and her background, especially the true nature of her relationship with Shanks and her family’s history, all in light of the most recent manga revelations. You will find out some details about her, her story, and her importance to the world of One Piece. We will give you some known biographical details about her and answer some questions relating to her role in the story, focusing primarily on her relationship with Shanks and both of their relationships with the Figarland Family.
As far as it is known, Uta is not related to the Figarland Family
Uta is a world-famous diva and a major character in One Piece Film: Red. Every One Piece fan is now aware of this information. She is Pirate Emperor Shanks’s daughter. Uta wants Luffy to stop pirating for some reason. Excellent singer Uta is rumored to transport listeners to several dimensions. It is uncertain if a Devil Fruit is to blame for this power. She has achieved recognition and renown on a global scale as a result of her vocal prowess, becoming a well-known diva and drawing sizable crowds to her appearances.
Now, Uta’s past has often been discussed, and for a while now, fans have been discussing several things related to her and her role in the story. The most important one is her relationship with Shanks and the nature of her relationship, as she was introduced as simply being Shanks’ daughter without any further details. Luckily, the movie provided us with enough information that we can provide you with a definitive answer about Uta’s past.
According to the tale, Uta was born in an unnamed village 19 years before the present chronology. When Uta was two years old, pirates raided the area where she was born. In addition to plundering the area, the pirates slaughtered Uta’s parents and abducted the small girl, taking her along with them.
They came across Shank’s Red Hair Pirates out at sea, who assaulted them and stole their treasure. Shanks discovered the joyously grinning two-year-old Uta inside one of the chests. After reflecting on his own past, Shanks decided to adopt Uta as his daughter and take her along on all of his travels and experiences. Seeing this encounter as fate, Shanks cheerfully took her in because he could not find her family and didn’t even know they had been dead.
As you can see, Uta is not Shanks’ biological daughter, which means that whatever family Shanks belongs to, Uta is not part of that family; she is, technically, since Shanks adopted her, but she does have a biological family her own (whether Oda plans on revealing more details about them is a mystery as of this moment).
Shanks’ history, on the other hand, is likewise a mystery, but based on the most recent manga spoilers, we’re heading towards a big reveal related to Shanks, his family, and his history, as Shanks seems to be a World Noble.
Namely, if you remember the movie, the Five Elders mentioned that Uta could be a member of the Figarland Family due to her connection (relation) to Shanks. It was a brief moment from the movie but a very important one in light of the most recent revelations. It also tells us two things.
First of all, the Five Elders probably did not know that Uta is Shanks’ adopted daughter and not his biological daughter (they might have known which families were looted in the raid in which Uta was kidnapped, but that wouldn’t really imply a familial relationship with Shanks per se). Secondly, this implies that Shanks is somehow connected to the Figarland Family.
How and why? Well, if Shanks wasn’t related to the Figarland Family, the five old geezers wouldn’t have mentioned him in the first place. You know what the Five Elders always know more than anyone else, the readers included, so their mentioning Shanks in relation to the Figarland Family means that he is probably related to them and a member of the Figarland Family, as we have recently speculated. The most recent previews for Chapter 1086 of the manga also suggest that, implying that Shanks’ family is finally going to be revealed.
As for Uta, all of this means that she will be an adopted member of the Figarland Family if all these facts prove to be true. She is not biologically related to them, as Shanks only adopted her, but she is a member of the family now that Shanks considers her to be his daughter. The implications of this fact might prove irrelevant in the future, but now you know, at least, what her relationship with this enigmatic family from the series is.
