Rien is the main villain of the Hell’s Paradise series. So far, she has only been seen briefly in the anime, but her role in the series is enormous, and she will ultimately become the most dangerous enemy that Gabimaru and the others will have to face. Rien is the leader and the creator of the Tensen, and she possesses enormous Tao-related powers, aside from being a skilled fighter and an exceptionally dangerous enemy. There is no doubt that Rien is the strongest villain in the series by far.
The rest of this article will focus on Rien and her powers in the series. Rien is the main villain in the series and is, thus, undoubtedly interesting, which is why we thought it would be interesting to analyze her powers and tell you just how powerful she is. We won’t be comparing her to other characters just yet. This article will contain some spoilers from the Hell’s Paradise manga, so be careful how you approach it, but we won’t be revealing his whole story so as to not spoil the experience for the viewers.
Rien is undoubtedly the most powerful villain in the Hell’s Paradise manga and anime
Now, who is even Rien? Rien is the main antagonist in the Hell’s Paradise manga and its most powerful character, without a doubt. Rien was a Tensen-class Sennin who was the actual ruler of Kotaku, the creator of the Tensens, and the leader of Lord Tensen, all at the same time. She experimented with Tao in ways never seen before, all to revive her late husband, Jofuku, for whom she was willing to eliminate life in all of Japan. Her elemental attribute was Earth.
Being a Tensen, Rien possessed supernatural abilities that were superior to those of the Sennin that served under her and unmatched by any mortal. She was also far more powerful than the other Tensens under her leadership. Hence, Rien may be considered the biggest danger in the Jigokuraku manga.
Jikka concluded that there would be no viable method to successfully defeat Rien even if he and the nine human survivors with him were to fight her 10,000 times using his particular institution, which he claims is 100% correct.
Aside from these general abilities, Rien was also exceptionally intelligent. She was a brilliant researcher, and she assisted her late husband, Jofuku, in his experiments long ago. She created the Tensen and made them so powerful, and she was, as we’ve said, able to use their powers herself.
The Tensen obeyed her almost without questioning it, and Mei was the only one who openly disobeyed her long ago, which is why Rien so severely punished her. She was able to produce the Tan elixir, to harvest humans for that purpose, and later even produce the Elixir of Life. It could very well be said that everything we’ve seen on Kotaku is Rien’s and Jofoku’s doing, but since Jofuku’s death, Rien has had much more time to perfect her research.
She is also a brilliant tactician in battle, as shown in the series, and was able to outwit most of her opponents without resorting to some of her ultimate techniques. The unique combination of power and intelligence is what made Rien such a formidable opponent and why she was, without a doubt, the strongest villain in the series.
Because she possessed the powers of a Tensen, she could change between the Yin and Yang forms. In her Yin form, Rien would become exceptionally fast, and her agility would make her almost untouchable.
On the other hand, her Yang form would give her a significant power boost that would make her stronger than anyone. She is also an expert in hand-to-hand combat, as seen in later battles. She was able to fend off Gabimaru and Shugen at the same time with relative ease, and she was also able to defend herself against Gabimaru’s and Sagiri’s synchronized attacks later on. She also carried a weaponized fan with her, which was an extremely dangerous weapon in her hands.
As for her supernatural abilities, her mastery of Tao surpassed that of the Tensen, and she was, in that aspect, the character with the best Tao control in the whole series. No one could match her in this category. She could also do Kishikai Transformation, but even she couldn’t remain in that state for more than half an hour.
Seeing how it gave her six arms and made her more powerful, she usually did not have to fight anyone that long. Another one of her abilities is to create powerful puppets of her that she could use as an army.
All of this ultimately proves our basic conclusion when Rien is concerned – she is, by far, the strongest villain and character (overall) in Hell’s Paradise. She has unmatched skills in numerous fields and surpassed everyone with her physical abilities and mastery of Tao. Due to her possessing Tensen-level powers, Rien was a truly dangerous foe and someone who was rightfully picked by the author as the series’ main villain.
