With the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen finally underway, we’ve had the chance to see the beginning of Gojo’s Past Arc, which took us back to 2006, when Gojo and Geto were still students. The story is going to be thrilling, but aside from that, the characters introduced to the story are also going to be quite great, especially since many of them were completely new (we’ve also seen some younger versions of well-known characters). One new character is Misato Kuroi, a young woman who is seen with Riko, the current Star Plasma Vessel. Misato is a jujutsu sorcerer, but as it seems, she is a non-combatant and doesn’t have her own cursed technique, although she is physically strong, agile, and can see curses and jujutsu. Misato Kuroi was loyal to Riko and cared about her a lot, but she ended up being defeated by Toji Fushiguro

Misato Kuroi is a young woman of 31 who was first introduced in the second season of the anime, i.e., during the Gojo’s Past Arc of the manga. She has been Riko’s caretaker ever since her family was killed in an accident. She is primarily a non-combatant, which surprises her opponents since she is also a sorcerer with combat skills. Not much is known about her personally, so it is not known how exactly she is related to Riko.

Because she wears a maid’s uniform all the time, it is implied that she is in the service of Riko, although the two of them don’t really have such a formal relationship. Misato is actually the only person Riko has had in the whole world since her family died, although it is unknown if she had been working for the Kuroi family before.

She cares a lot for Riko, so much that Geto, after just one conversation with her, tells her that she is her family, which makes Misato blush. This implies that despite the relatively friendly relationship they have, Misato never thought of herself as someone who was that close to Riko.

She is, at the same time, the caretaker of the Star Plasma Vessel, which means that she also has to “prepare” Riko to merge with Master Tengen, which is her primary duty as the Star Plasma Vessel. Misato is there to take care of her, watch out for her safety, and help her, so she quickly becomes friends with Geto and Gojo after realizing that they are their allies.

She is fiercely loyal to Riko and is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even engage powerful characters. She immediately engaged the Bag-Man cursed user, despite being unable to use cursed techniques herself, as it seems. Misato Kuroi is, and that has been confirmed, a jujutsu sorceress, but it doesn’t seem like she is a curse user, as she has not used any technique whatsoever.

Still, she is physically strong, skilled with weapons, and amazingly agile, which surprises her opponents, as she doesn’t seem that strong. This is how she defeated the Bag-Man’s clone before Geto’s curse completely destroyed the latter.

Now, Misato appeared only in Gojo’s Past Arc, and she will play a significant role in this arc, but we won’t be revealing too many details here. Our goal is not to spoil everything for you, as that would take away the pleasure of watching the series, which we all want to enjoy.

Namely, near the end of the Arc in question, Misato, while doing her job, had to face Toji Fushiguro, the powerful main villain of this flashback arc. And while Toji was not a curse user, he was extremely powerful, and Misato had no chance against him in a direct clash.

Ultimately, she is severely injured by Toji when she infiltrates the institution, to the extent that he is unsure whether or not she survived. Her ultimate fate is, thus, unknown.

Namely, Misato has not appeared nor been mentioned in the present timeline, so we don’t know what happened to her. With Riko dead, if she managed to survive, she probably retreated from the jujutsu society completely, but because she actually fought Toji, the likelihood of her surviving the battle is already quite small.
