This season of Classroom of the Elite started off with Volume 8 of the light novel series, i.e., with the Mixed Training Camp event. It later continued, in Volume 10 of the light novel, with the intriguing Class Poll Exam, which was a very special event that took place in the school, and it caused a lot of stir among the students. Currently, the series is heading towards the year-end Event Selection Exam, the final special exam of the year, and in this article, we are going to analyze one of the two match-ups of the exam. If you’re interested in what happened in the duel between Class 1-B and Class 1-D, look no further as this article will tell you everything you need to know!

  • Article Breakdown:
  • Class 1-B and Class 1-D faced each other as part of the Event Selection Exam, the final special exam of the year. Honami Ichinose was 1-B’s Commander, while 1-D’s original Commander, Satoru Kaneda, was replaced by Kakeru Ryūen.
  • The two classes competed in the following seven events: Chemistry Test, Mathematics Test, Karate, and Judo; the three remaining tests have not been specified.
  • In the end, Class 1-D won five of the seven events, and was thus declared the overall winner, winning 190 points in total.

Class 1-B vs. Class 1-D: An introduction

As previously said, we will discuss the matchups from the Event Selection Special Exam in this article. As part of this special exam, classes compete against one another in pairs. It was crucial to keep in mind that the events that would be included in the exam would be chosen by the classes themselves, who would nominate five “real” and five “fake” events, from which the seven events would be chosen. Class 1-D won the class lottery and they chose to go up against Class 1-B. The latter’s Commander was Honami Ichinose, while Class 1-D’s original Commander, Satoru Kaneda, was replaced by Kakeru Ryūen.

Now that we have cleared this, we can tell you the events that the classes chose to nominate:

Sadly, the information we have on Classes 1-B and 1-D are scarce and this is all we have. If you want more details, we have more information in our individual article dealing with the Event Selection Exam but don’t expect too many additional details, as the author never revealed too many details on these two classes.

The events

As we have said, a total of seven events were selected to be played out between the two classes, and in this section, we are going to list them, the ones we know at least, and tell you who was selected to represent each class in the events (if you want to follow this in more detail, be sure to read out another article, linked above).

1. Chemistry Test

The first event selected was Class 1-B’s official event choice – a chemistry test. No details have been revealed, but we assume that it was based on the first-year syllabus and that the Commander’s role consisted of being able to answer one question in place of the participants. The participants were never revealed.

2. Mathematics Test

Like the previous one, the mathematics test was also Class 1-B’s official choice. Again, no details have been provided, but based on the fact that an identical event was held between Classes 1-A and 1-C, we assume that it was also based on the first-year syllabus and that the Commander could answer one question in place of the participants. The participants were not revealed.

3. Karate

Class 1-D’s official choice was karate, and it was selected as the third event of the exam. It was a non-contact, sudome karate event with 3-minute matches. The Commander could invalidate one match and ask that it be replayed. The teams of the classes were:

Class 1-BClass 1-D
Sumida Makoto
Watanabe Norihito
Yonezu Haruto
Suzuki Hidetoshi
Oda Takumi
Ishizaki Daichi

4. Judo

Judo was also Class 1-D’s official choice, and it was the fourth event in the series. Standard judo rules applied to this event, and the Commander could invalidate the match and ask that it be replayed since it was a 1-on-1 event. Class 1-B forfeited this event and lost, so Class 1-D’s representative, Albert Yamada, did not have much work to do here.

5./6./7. Unknown

Sadly, we don’t know which events were selected for events 5-7, as the author never revealed any details about them. We have told you everything we know and unless the author reveals more details, we’ll sadly have to list these unknown events for the duration.

Now that you have an overview of what happened, before we end this article, we are going to give you an overview of the events as they played out and reveal the winners/losers of each event:

So, as you can see, Class 1-D won five and lost a total of two events, which means that they were the ultimate winners of this event. Based on the known points table, Class 1-D won 190 points in total (they won 150 points, lost 60, and won an additional 100 points for being the total winners), while Class 1-B lost 90 points based on their results here.
