Disney Has Reportedly Been Hacked – 1TB of Data Allegedly Stolen Including Unreleased Projects
And when it rains it pours. According to several sources, a hacktivist group going under the name NullBulge has hacked resulting in the theft of over 1TB of data including unreleased projects, login credentials, raw images and codes, and more.
The hack happened via Disney’s internal Slack, a popular collaboration and communication platform that seems to be the target of hacking attacks quite often in the last few years.
“NullBulge” claims to have leaked 1.1 terabytes of Disney’s internal Slack data, including nearly 10,000 channels, all messages and files, unreleased projects, raw images and code, logins, and links to internal APIs/web pages. The hack hasn’t been acknowledge or confirmed by the official sources yet.
As far as NullBulge goes, their goals are very clear – protecting the interests of artists worldwide. According to their official site, they are often targeting high-profile targets who commit one of the sins listed on their site: the usage of AI in generating artwork, cryptocurrency shilling, and any kind of theft from artists.
Their mission is to reduce theft from artists and promote a fair and sustainable ecosystem for creators. The hacktivist groups state that their hacks are intended to punish those who steal, regardless of the scale of the theft.
This puts the hack in perspective and makes sense as to why Disney would be a target of such an attack. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
