Another MCU Street-Level TV Series May Hinge on the Success of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
Daredevil: Born Again is one of the most anticipated upcoming MCU releases, largely due to the strong fan following of Netflix’s Daredevil series. This new installment is set to integrate Daredevil’s existing storylines and characters with the MCU’s broader universe, marking the start of a new street-level phase in the cinematic landscape.
This excitement is heightened by the mixed reception of the Multiverse concept so far, underscoring a growing demand for more grounded, street-level narratives in the MCU.
We already know that Daredevil: Born Again will feature familiar faces such as Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen, Elden Henson’s Foggy, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. However, rumors suggest that Marvel is also considering an additional series to further expand the Defenders roster in the MCU.
According to sources from Comicodigy, Marvel is reportedly weighing the possibility of a Heroes for Hire series starring Mike Colter and Finn Jones, depending on the success of Daredevil: Born Again.
Heroes for Hire is a team of superheroes who offer their services for a fee. The most notable original members are Iron Fist and Luke Cage, with Jessica Jones, Colleen Wing (Mistress of the Martial Arts), Shang-Chi, and Black Cat also joining the roster over time. While the team has seen various iterations, Luke Cage and Iron Fist remain its most iconic and foundational figures.
Finn Jones has expressed a desire to return as Iron Fist, but Mike Colter has been less enthusiastic about reprising his role as Luke Cage, suggesting that he doesn’t think about the character much. Therefore, it’s wise to take this rumor with some caution.
A Heroes for Hire series would not only be an exciting way to integrate the remaining Defenders into the MCU but also a chance to introduce Black Cat, who is rumored to appear in Spider-Man 4 with Sydney Sweeney in the role.
