Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is set to have a big part in Avengers: Doomsday, and new details are giving fans a better idea of what’s coming for the God of Thunder.

The upcoming movie is already one of Marvel’s most talked-about projects, and many are eager to see how Thor’s story connects to the larger Avengers lineup.

In a recent AMA session, industry insider Alex Perez shared some insight into Thor’s role after being asked how involved he’ll be in the story. When a fan compared it to his previous appearances, Perez explained that Thor’s screen time would mix both approaches. “Technically both, because it starts as a subplot but joins in at a much earlier moment than the 3rd act, like he did in Infinity War,” Perez said.

Perez also mentioned that Thor’s journey in Doomsday won’t be an easy one. “What I can tell you a bit about his role is that Thor really goes through it. He always seems like he has a lot to lose in these movies. To quote Frank Ocean, what’s a God to a non-believer?” he added.

Earlier reports suggested that a version of the Thor Corps might appear in the movie, hinting at multiple Thors from across the multiverse. Other rumors even claimed that this film could mark the end of Thor’s story, with the character possibly dying as part of a farewell to Hemsworth’s long-running role.

However, Marvel boss Kevin Feige addressed those rumors, hinting that Hemsworth isn’t done yet. Feige said that the actor still has plenty of time left as Thor, pushing back on talk of a sudden retirement.

While Marvel hasn’t revealed much about Avengers: Doomsday, it’s clear that Thor’s role will be central to the story and emotionally charged. Whether he’s facing new cosmic threats or struggling with his own place among the gods, it sounds like fans can expect a more personal and intense version of the character.
