Pierce Brosnan has opened up about his time in the DC world and hinted that fans might not have seen the last of his character.

Brosnan played Dr. Fate in Black Adam, which came out right before James Gunn took control of DC’s new film universe. When asked if he was now trying to move over to Marvel, he made it clear that he was not chasing roles.

“No, I’m not,” Brosnan said. “I’ve never banged down anyone’s door. I mean, they know where to find me.” He then shared something he has heard from people around the industry.

According to him, “I’ve heard that Dr Fate was going to have his own show, or his own movie. I’ve heard that he’s going to be in the next Superman.” He also said he enjoyed playing the character and added, “I would definitely be open to it.”

While Brosnan’s comments got attention, DC has also been moving forward with its own plans. James Gunn has been shaping the next chapter of Superman’s story.

Reports say he started writing a new film in mid-2025. It will continue Superman’s journey but won’t follow the same structure as a traditional sequel. Later that year, Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav confirmed that Gunn would write and direct this new entry in what they call the “Super-Family.”

Gunn eventually revealed that the next movie is titled Man of Tomorrow, which is set to release on July 9, 2027. He has said the story is part of a larger “Superman Saga” he wants to build. He also shared that the movie focuses on both Superman and Lex Luthor, explaining that it is “as much a Lex movie as it is a Superman movie.” Brainiac will be the main villain. Filming is expected to begin in April 2026 in Atlanta.

There have also been updates about possible spin-off shows. One project centers on Jimmy Olsen. The show, which will stream on HBO Max, will follow Olsen as he hosts a true-crime style program where he and other Daily Planet reporters look into famous villains. Gorilla Grodd is planned to be part of the first season.
