Robert De Niro Blasts Donald Trump: “He’s an Alien Who Wants to Hurt This Country”
Robert De Niro criticized President Donald Trump in a recent MSNBC interview, calling him a danger to the country. Speaking on the program “The Weekend”, De Niro said Trump “has no empathy” and described him as an “alien” who wants to harm the United States.
“Trump does not understand anything about humanity, people,” De Niro said. “He has no empathy. I don’t know where — what he is, but he’s an alien, and he wants to hurt this country.” He went on to say, “It’s something deeply psychological in him, he wants to hurt people. He wants to hurt this country, doesn’t care.”

De Niro has been a vocal critic of Trump for years. Recently, he encouraged Americans to participate in protests for “No Kings Day,” which he tied to the history of democracy in the United States.
On Instagram, he wrote, “The original No Kings protest was 250 years ago. We’ve had two and a half centuries of democracy since then, often challenging, sometimes messy, always essential.” He also referenced past wars, adding, “And we fought in two world wars to preserve it. Now we have a would-be king who wants to take it away, King Donald I. F**** that!”
The actor’s comments drew a quick response from the White House. Communications director Steven Cheung said De Niro is “washed up” and “hasn’t been relevant in 30 years.” Cheung added, “Now, he just beclowns himself by spewing hate speech and inciting violence against others.”
De Niro has also supported political figures he aligns with. Last year, he publicly backed former Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign, urging fans to support her during a Philadelphia Eagles tailgate.
The tension between De Niro and Trump has been ongoing, with the two exchanging sharp words over the years. De Niro’s latest remarks continue a pattern of strong criticism from Hollywood figures toward the former president, highlighting deep political divisions in the U.S.
