Margot Robbie Shines in Holiday Season’s Most Elegant & Chic Look
Margot Robbie stole the spotlight at a gala in London this week, attending the War Child charity dinner in a striking black asymmetrical gown.
The actress, 35, paired the off-the-shoulder dress with a black winter coat draped over her shoulders, statement earrings, and sparkly heels, completing a look that was glamorous yet understated. According to British Vogue, “The little sliver of skin says it all without saying anything at all.”
Other celebrities at the event included Oscar winner Olivia Colman, 51, who wore a bold leopard-print coat, and Gillian Anderson, 57, Robbie’s co-star from The Crown, who looked stunning in an emerald green velvet dress layered with a faux-fur trimmed coat. The gala supports War Child, a charity dedicated to protecting and educating children affected by conflict around the world, from Gaza to Sudan.
Robbie’s appearance comes as she prepares for the release of Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights. She will play Cathy opposite Jacob Elordi’s Heathcliff.
Speaking to British Vogue, Robbie shared that filming was challenging just three months after giving birth to her son with husband Tom Ackerley, but she praised Fennell for helping to “relieve her anxiety.” She also commented on the intimate scenes in the film, saying that “some of the more tender moments with Jacob made me weak at the knees.”
The new adaptation has already drawn attention and some controversy, as Cathy is depicted as a teenager in the book and Heathcliff is traditionally described as dark-skinned. Insiders note that the film is not a direct recreation of the novel and follows Fennell’s signature style of dramatic, stylized storytelling, similar to her 2023 hit Saltburn.
Ahead of the release, Robbie also participated in a Vogue photoshoot, wearing several avant-garde outfits in striking locations, showing her flair for fashion alongside her busy film schedule.
