Director Zack Snyder has been sharing plenty of behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram, giving fans a closer look at both his work and personal life. The filmmaker, known for his unique visual style, often revisits his time in the DC Extended Universe by posting clips and photos from past productions.

One of his latest posts gave fans a special glimpse of Gal Gadot during her early days as Wonder Woman.

Snyder shared a short video showing Gadot practicing her iconic defensive move, the Gauntlet Smash. First ever Gauntlet Smash practice with @gal_gadot Shot on my phone. Pure joy, pure power, Snyder wrote alongside the clip. The footage dates back to the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which marked Gadot’s debut as the Amazonian hero.

Gadot played Wonder Woman for nearly ten years, starring in Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman 1984, and appearing in both versions of Justice League. She also made later cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash, closing out her era in the original DCEU timeline.

Plans for a third solo Wonder Woman film were canceled after DC Studios underwent a major restructuring under James Gunn and Peter Safran. The franchise is now rebooting into the DC Universe, and it’s expected that Diana Prince will be recast for the new continuity.

Fans have long debated Gadot’s performance. Many admired her as the visual embodiment of Wonder Woman, while some critics pointed to her acting as a weak point.

Outside of superhero movies, Gadot has taken on a variety of roles. She recently played the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action Snow White and starred in the drama In the Hand of Dante, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

Meanwhile, Zack Snyder is exploring more grounded stories after his sci-fi film Rebel Moon. His next project, The Last Photograph, is a kidnapping thriller set in South America. It stars Stuart Martin and Fra Fee and follows an ex-DEA agent and a war photographer searching for missing family members. Snyder is also developing an untitled Netflix action film about an elite Los Angeles Police Department unit.

This move away from superhero and fantasy films marks a big shift in Snyder’s career. Even though his DCEU era is over, his influence on the genre continues to spark conversation online.

Do you think Gal Gadot should have been brought into the new DCU, or is it time for a fresh Wonder Woman? Share your thoughts in the comments.
