Adam Sandler Opens up About How Impressive Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show Was
Adam Sandler had nothing but glowing things to say about Bad Bunny’s historic Super Bowl halftime performance. The singer took the stage on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium, delivering a set entirely in Spanish that has been praised for its cultural impact.
When asked by a reporter for Entertainment Tonight what he thought of the performance, Sandler didn’t hold back his enthusiasm. The Happy Gilmore star described the show as unbelievable and noted that seeing the singer so loose and happy made everyone feel ecstatic.
Sandler also went out of his way to praise the artist personally, calling him a great, great human being before signing off with a friendly hey, love ya to the reporter. The reaction online was just as positive, with thousands of fans liking and sharing the interaction.
Many people found it iconic to see two legends supporting each other, especially since they recently worked together on the big screen. One fan pointed out that it was great to see someone with Sandler’s status acknowledging the talent and the historic nature of the halftime show.
Sandler and Bad Bunny actually built a friendship while working on the Netflix sequel Happy Gilmore 2. In that film, the Puerto Rican superstar made a guest appearance alongside Sandler, which gave them plenty of time to bond on set.
Bad Bunny has even joked in interviews that he was initially starstruck when he first saw Sandler, specifically remembering a time they locked eyes at a Lakers game years ago. For his part, Sandler noticed the singer at that game because his daughter is a massive fan of the artist’s music.
He hilariously recalled the moment they made eye contact across the basketball court, saying he wanted to give him some love from across the court. Benito admitted he had been waiting for that moment for a long time, as he had seen many celebrities at games but never his hero, Adam Sandler.

As of February, Sandler is keeping a very full schedule that balances his comedy roots with more serious roles. He recently starred in the comedy-drama Jay Kelly, directed by Noah Baumbach, which was released on Netflix in late 2025.
In that film, he played the frustrated manager to a famous movie star played by George Clooney, a performance that earned him a Maltin Modern Master Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival just last week.
The actor is also currently in the middle of his massive You’re My Best Friend comedy tour, which has been selling out arenas across North America. Fans can also look forward to seeing him back with his regular crew soon, as rumors suggest that Grown Ups 3 is officially in the works.
