Marvel Drops a 10-Hour ‘Loki’ Video as Fans Brace for the God of Stories’ Next Chapter
Few Marvel Cinematic Universe characters have had a journey quite like Loki’s. Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief began as Thor’s villainous adopted brother before becoming the unlikely hero of his own Disney+ series, which premiered on June 9, 2021, from creator Michael Waldron.
The show turned out to be one of Marvel’s most successful streaming ventures. ‘Loki’ was among the rare Marvel series to earn a renewal, joining ‘X-Men ’97’ and ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, and its second season ran for 6 episodes from October 5 to November 9, 2023, with Eric Martin as head writer and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead leading the directing team.
Now Marvel is giving fans a new way to revisit the character’s most iconic transformation. The studio has released a 10-hour video on YouTube titled “Loki Becomes the God of Stories,” a marathon-length tribute to the moment that redefined Hiddleston’s character.
The video’s artwork is instantly eye-catching. It depicts Loki, wearing his signature horned helmet and green robes, seated on a throne as glowing green branches stretch out around him in every direction.
The illustration has a bold, comic book-inspired look. Miss Minutes, the TVA’s cheerful animated mascot, can be spotted at the base of the throne, adding a playful nod to the series.

The video quickly drew attention online, with a post sharing the news racking up tens of thousands of views. Some fans were quick to joke about Loki’s history of being killed off, with one quipping that he might once again be taken out in the opening minutes of his next film.
The title references one of the most significant evolutions in the character’s history. In addition to being known as the God of Mischief, Loki’s titles in the MCU have come to include the God of Time and the God of Stories.
The concept also has roots in the comics. In Marvel’s 2023 ‘Loki’ series, the character is described as the “benevolent” God of Stories, though his past as the God of Lies returns to haunt him.
That shift from trickster to protector has been central to the character’s arc. Hiddleston’s Loki now holds a far more selfless role than the villain audiences first met in 2011. The timing of the video is notable. According to Collider, ‘Loki’ has been trending upward on streaming as fans prepare for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which arrives in theaters on December 18.

Plot details for ‘Doomsday’ remain tightly under wraps, and Loki’s exact role in the film is still unclear. Collider has speculated that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will be wreaking havoc across the very multiverse Loki is now sworn to protect, setting up a potential clash between the 2.
The MCU has also been riding a wave of momentum. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has become one of the highest-grossing movies in history, passing $2.4 billion at the global box office.
For longtime fans, the 10-hour video offers a perfect backdrop for revisiting the series. Whether it’s played in the background or treated as a celebration of the character’s journey, it keeps Loki front and center as Marvel’s multiverse story heads toward its biggest moments.

With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ just over 2 months away, anticipation surrounding the God of Stories continues to build. Fans will soon find out whether his throne at the center of the multiverse remains safe.
Do you think Loki will play a major role in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?
