‘In the Grey’ Star Eiza González and Zoey Deutch Turned Up Together at Armani’s Chateau Marmont Party, and Fans Want a Movie
Awards season may still be a way off, but October’s biggest Hollywood fundraiser has become its own kind of opening ceremony. The Academy Museum Gala returned for its sixth year on October 17 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, drawing a guest list heavy with A-listers and fresh-off-the-runway fashion. The Eiza González and Zoey Deutch pairing that emerged from the weekend has become one of its more talked-about images.
Both were on the main carpet that night. González wore a flowing ivory satin gown with an open back and a cape-like panel trailing from one shoulder, accessorized with David Yurman jewelry, while Deutch opted for a boldly patterned Prada look that stood out on a carpet full of prints.
The photo circulating this week comes from the night after. Giorgio Armani hosted his second annual Academy Museum Gala after-party at Chateau Marmont on October 18, and the two actresses were photographed together in a shot credited to Krista Schlueter.
The after-party kicked off at 10:30 p.m. and drew a genuinely eclectic crowd. Arrivals included A$AP Rocky, Tracee Ellis Ross in a tangerine Balenciaga ensemble, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who entered alongside Tobey Maguire in considerably lower-key fashion.
The guest list kept expanding through the night. Attendees included Ella Rubin, Belmont Cameli, ‘Pitch Perfect’ co-stars Brittany Snow and Anna Kendrick, and Charli XCX, who arrived after her show at the Kia Forum.

The vibe skewed casual despite the designer backing. Chateau Marmont served its signature snacks, including tiny burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches, while espresso martinis moved briskly at the bars. Deutch was also spotted sharing a warm embrace with Colman Domingo, with Kate Hudson joining the conversation.
Part of the appeal is that these two don’t orbit the same projects. González has spent the year across action and comedy, while Deutch has been working almost exclusively in character-driven comedy and drama.
González’s 2026 has been packed. She appeared in Guy Ritchie’s ‘In the Grey’ opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill, the R-rated comedy ‘Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice’ with Vince Vaughn and James Marsden, and ‘I Love Boosters’, which currently sits at 92% with critics.

Deutch has been building in a different direction. She led the Netflix romantic comedy-drama ‘Voicemails for Isabelle’ opposite Nick Robinson, written and directed by Leah McKendrick, which released in June and drew generally positive reviews.
Neither is slowing down. Deutch has ‘Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass’ arriving this year, along with announced projects including ‘The 99’ers’, where she plays Marla Messing, and ‘Most Dangerous Game’, reuniting her with ‘Set It Up’ writer Katie Silberman.
She’s increasingly working behind the camera too, holding executive producer credits on several of those upcoming titles. González, meanwhile, has ‘Kung Fury 2’ listed among her upcoming credits. Her fashion year has been consistently high-profile, including an Armani Privé gown at the Actor Awards and Miu Miu at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.
Beyond the photo ops, the event serves a concrete purpose. The gala raises money for the museum’s exhibitions, education initiatives, and public programming, with last year’s edition collecting a record sum exceeding $12 million.

Its timing is deliberate, landing right after the September to October fashion weeks, which is why the carpet tends to feature so many freshly debuted looks. This year’s honorees continued the tradition of recognizing figures across filmmaking.
For fans watching the photos roll in, though, the appeal is simpler. Two actresses with almost no overlapping filmography standing side by side is exactly the kind of image that gets people casting imaginary projects.
What kind of movie would you most like to see Eiza González and Zoey Deutch star in together?
