Adult Sasuke vs. Madara: Who Would Win in a Fight?
As you probably know by now, the worlds of Naruto and Boruto have provided us with a series of brilliant fights that became – some of them, at least – trademark moments of the whole show. Now, some of these fights are interesting enough for us to discuss them here, and in this article, we have chosen to talk about a hypothetical match-up between two allies in the series. Namely, in this article, we will talk about a duel between an adult Sasuke Uchiha from Boruto and Madara Uchiha, one of the most skilled and powerful characters in the whole series, as well as one of its toughest villains. You’re going to find out who would win.
Madara Uchiha is stronger than Sasuke, even when the latter is an adult. Even if Sasuke were to fight with all of his powers, Madara was simply too big of a powerhouse for him and would be able to defeat him. Considering, though, that Sasuke lost his Rinnegan in Boruto, we can only confirm that he would stand absolutely no chance against Madara without all of his skills and abilities.
Now that you have the short version of the answer, we are going to provide you with a detailed category-by-category analysis of the issue, presenting the characters in questions to you and giving you a point-by-point analysis that is going to help you understand why Madara Uchiha would be able to beat even an adult Sasuke, especially because the latter lost his Rinnegan.
Chakra and physical prowess
Like his child counterpart, Sasuke also possesses large amounts of Chakra, being able to perform a strong Fire Release technique at a young age. In the second part, his Chakra levels increased tremendously, summoning a giant snake-like Manda and using Chidori multiple times in a single day, a big change considering that he could only perform it twice a day before.

Madara was born with an extremely powerful Chakra, even by Uchiha Clan standards. This is because he was one of Indra’s Transmigrants, inheriting the powerful Chakra from him. His reserves were so vast that he could fight nonstop for a full twenty-four hours; even in his old age, after awakening the Rinnegan, he had enough Chakra to summon Gedo Mazo from the Moon after breaking the seal that contained it. His superior chakra control enabled him to perform complicated and chakra-intensive jutsu with a single hand seal and absorb and quickly adapt to senjutsu.
And while the adult Sasuke has come relatively close to Madara’s level, he has not surpassed him in that aspect, with Madara remaining the strongest Uchiha ever. This is why he wins this point.
Points: Sasuke 0, Madara 1
Ninjutsu
Sasuke demonstrates his great skill in controlling fire jutsu, which is common in the Uchiha Clan. At the age of 7, he had already mastered the complicated Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique and possibly the Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique. He later invented the Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique, even for such a feat which, according to him, Genin normally requires much more experience and chakra developing elemental fire techniques.
Like all Uchiha clan members, Madara possesses a Katon nature chakra. He now has mastery over all elemental chakra natures thanks to the Rinnegan. Madara’s Katon techniques have incredible range and power; Itachi’s supreme fireballs had medium range and respectable power, but Madara’s are on another level entirely. They are stronger than Sasuke’s.
As a result, it took the combined efforts of the entire Fourth Division to counter his Katon techniques with Suiton techniques. He also had some of Hashirama’s power implanted in him, allowing him to use the Mokuton techniques. The power of his Mokuton is incredible. With it, he has created gigantic roots with lotus flowers at the end, whose scent is deadly to breathe: “the forest of flowering trees.” With this technique alone, he has an advantage over the five Kage combined.
He can also create a Mokuton clone, which he claims is ideal because, thanks to his Sharingan, he is undetectable except by himself. Madara can summon twenty-five clones of himself and transform them into humanoid-looking Susan. A Susanô can easily compete with and even outperform five Kage. He can summon the wood dragon, which can be the size of a Biju, and wind them up to cancel their chakra. Mokuton’s bending abilities are comparable to Hashirama’s.
This is a category where we could actually consider that Sasuke is somewhere around Madara’s level, and in order to acknowledge that, despite the diversity and power of Madara’s ninjutsu, we are going to split the points here.
Points: Sasuke 1, Madara 2
Dōjutsu
With the basic Sharingan, he managed to save himself from Itachi’s Tsukuyomi to dialogue with the Fox in Naruto’s mind and to subdue the king of gods. Manda snakes. With the hypnotic Sharingan, he could immobilize Killer Bee, some samurai, and Shi and create an illusion similar to his brother’s technique, with which he distracted Danzo. After obtaining the Rinnegan, Sasuke’s ability in genjutsu increases to subduing all nine hunters with a glance. Like all Uchiha, he has a natural predisposition for the fire-type chakra, learning the supreme fireball technique at the age of seven, and later also learns how to use the lightning-type chakra, learning from Kakashi the Chidori and creating numerous variations. Still, he would go on to lose his Rinnegan in Boruto, which weakened him significantly.
Madara Uchiha expertly masters his Sharingan, pushing it to incredible heights. He first awoke there during a fight between his family and Hashirama Senju’s. He can use genjutsu ten times stronger than Itachi’s and stop an enemy in his tracks (as seen in chapter 561). He masters all of the abilities and skills that the Sharingan provides to its user on a level far beyond that of Itachi or even Sasuke.
Madara developed his Sharingan to a high level while still a child, allowing him to lead the Uchiha clan alongside his younger brother. His new eyes were so powerful that he was able to fight numerous duels against Hashirama Senju, cementing his legend. Madara, like all Kaleidoscope users, has mastered the Susanoo. His Susanô is extremely powerful; he possesses a massive sword of incredible strength, which he used to defeat numerous shinobi.
Shortly before his death, he pushed his Sharingan to its limit by implanting cells from the First Hokage into his body, resulting in the “Rinnegan,” the ultimate evolution of the Sharingan. From then on, he has the six Rikudô powers, his techniques, and all the skills and advantages associated with the Rinnegan, which are on a completely different level than Nagato’s.
An adult sasuke does not have his Rinnegan anymore, which means he is absolutely not even near Madara’s level, so we have to award this final point to Madara.
Points: Sasuke 1, Madara 3
Madara defeats an adult Sasuke without too much trouble
It has to be said that a peak-level adult Sasuke would certainly be able to hold his ground against Madara Uchiha. Sasuke has since become quite skilled, and he has expanded his skills as well as honed them. Still, as the points suggest, it probably wouldn’t be enough for him to overpower Madara. But, if we consider the fact that Sasuke actually lost his Rinnegan in Boruto, which made him significantly weaker, we can only confirm that he would not stand a chance against Madara in such a state.
