Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most important characters in the whole Naruto franchise. The antihero of the series, Sasuke has been it all – the villain, the hero, and, finally, an antihero that beautifully complements Naruto’s heroic ideals. On top of that, Sasuke is also one of the strongest characters in the whole series. A lot of his powers and abilities stem from the fact that he could use the Rinnegan, but there is more to tell in this aspect, which is why we have decided to talk about Sasuke’s abilities in Boruto. In this article, you are going to find out whether Sasuke has the Rinnegan or the Rinne Sharingan in Boruto.

As of the time of writing, Sasuke has neither the Rinnegan nor the Rinne Sharingan. Namely, Sasuke has the Rinnegan, and he had a very special Sharingan in his eyes. But, whilst he lost his Rinnegan after being stabbed by a Momoshiki-possessed Boruto, he never actually had the Rinne Sharingan. It was just a very special and unique Sharingan. Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and Madara Uchiha are the only two known Rinne Sharingan users.

In this article, we are going to tell you what happened to Sasuke Uchiha and how he ended up without the Rinnegan, but also whether he ever had the Rinne Sharingan. We are going to go over the whole story involving the Rinnegan and the Rinne Sharingan, which is one major question from the Naruto universe. If you’re not fully up-to-date with the story of Boruto, we have to warn you that there will be spoilers in this article.

Does Sasuke have the Rinnegan?

Sasuke was able to awaken the Rinnegan in his left eye after acquiring the power of the Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki. The Sharingan’s tomoe were still present in this Rinnegan, which had six of them and was identical to the traditional Rinnegan in color (purple-gray). However, when the ocular power was heavily depleted, the tomoe would vanish, and Sasuke would be unable to use the Sharingan’s full strength for a while. His Eternal Mangeky Sharingan was similarly affected by the process of time lengthening until its subsequent restoration.

Sasuke struggled to control his dōjutsu throughout the Fourth War and was occasionally forced to shut it down as a result of his inability to deactivate it. This showed that he lacked proper mastery over the art. Sasuke’s Rinnegan allowed him to defeat Madara Uchiha’s black receptors without being affected by him and also gave him the capacity to sense invisible targets. Along with his Susanoo, which blocked the rays of Genjutsu, Sasuke’s Rinnegan was also able to negate the effects of the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Notably, Sasuke could only find signs of Kaguya’s chakra with the help of the Rinnegan.

Sasuke showed that he could use his own Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan skills with his Rinnegan during and immediately after his fight with Kaguya, enabling him to execute Amaterasu and hence the Flame Element. However, despite this, he could increase his effectiveness when swapping with entities or objects in the same space. At first, Sasuke could only teleport within a small radius, but after fully mastering the technique, he could teleport much farther. He also showed that he could swap positions with an object without having to fix it.

Like the other dōjutsu practitioners, Sasuke was able to access the powers of the Six Paths. He demonstrated this ability by using the Deva Path to use Chibaku Tensei to individually seal each of the nine Tailed Beasts after putting them under a genjutsu powered by the Rinnegan to stop their movement. He then moved the asteroids in question in the direction of the Tailed Beasts. In the anime, he had access to the Bansh Ten’in, which allowed him to draw whatever he desired.

Similarly, the Uchiha showed how he could use the Black Path to take chakra through simple physical contact. However, Kurama emphasized that he was unable to simultaneously absorb and use a jutsu. But he also discovered that he could only do it a certain number of times before his eye needed to be recharged. As he did with the Outer Path Demon Statue, Sasuke could absorb, contain, and control the chakra of the nine Tailed Beasts using his Complete Body — Susanoo.

Due to this, his Susanoo changed, shedding its wings and revealing areas that were filled with Sasuke’s chakra. He then appeared as a human made of the Lightning Element with lightning bolts jutting from his back, resembling the power of Hagoromo in Kurama’s eyes.

He was shown to be very quick and strong in this form, Susanoo Indra, and was able to hit hard and block Naruto’s attacks as well as those of several shadow clones while in his Tailed Beast Mode. He also had the ability to fire Chidori Senbon, which were lightning bolts that could counter several Tailed Beast Balls that had been enhanced by Senjutsu. In addition, he was able to turn his sword into a bow and unleash a massive lightning arrow, which Sasuke claimed to be his most potent move because it allowed him to simultaneously block Naruto’s two strongest blows.

Just over fifteen years after gaining the Rinnegan, Sasuke lost it after being stabbed in the eye with a kunai by Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki controlling Boruto Uzumaki’s body. So, no, Sasuke does not have the Rinnegan anymore, although he did have it for a long time in the past.

Does Sasuke have the Rinne Sharingan?

The Rinne Sharingan is a very specific eye technique. It is actually the predecessor of the Rinnegan and the Sharingan and is characterized by its red color and nine tomoe. So far, only Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and Madara Uchiha have been confirmed as users of this technique, but Sasuke is also considered as a potential candidate due to his very special Sharingan. Before we answer the question, allow us to explain.

Sasuke acquired the Kekkei Genkai, the Sharingan, of his clan as a child, thanks to his membership in the illustrious Uchiha Clan. At age 7, after witnessing Itachi’s massacre of his clan, Sasuke awakened him for the first time with an X in each eye. However, because of the trauma this caused, Sasuke was unable to awaken him again or use it until he faced off against Haku, during which his right eye gained an additional tomoe, unlocking the power and allowing him to awaken him at will.

Before the Chūnin Exams, Sasuke developed two additional tomoe in each of his eyes. Later, during the conflict with Naruto in the Valley of the End, both eyes would develop to the point where all three tomoe would become active. Knowing this, Sasuke substantially extended the time he could keep his Sharingan active, even during protracted bouts with powerful foes. Even though the dōjutsu was discovered in an unfinished state, Orochimaru always claimed that Sasuke’s Sharingan contained a power even greater than the one that Itachi held.

Sasuke had numerous improved visual abilities to use as weapons because of this dōjutsu. He granted her incredible clarity, enabling her to distinguish between the different chakras’ flows and perceive the entire scene and, based on that, to precisely predict the target’s moves. He was able to match Naruto’s speed during their battle, both in his original form as a jinchūriki and in his one-tailed variation, thanks to the full development of his Sharingan. Sasuke was also able to accurately mimic the movements of others and even replicate their techniques to expand his toolbox, thanks to this eye.

This was shown when Sasuke, after witnessing Rock Lee’s speed in action, was physically able to match it in less time than it took the original user to perfect the ability. Through eye contact, his Sharingan can likewise project potent genjutsu. Sasuke has displayed impressive illusions throughout Part II that are capable of quickly hypnotizing opponents, slowing him down, learning knowledge, causing hallucinations, and effortlessly controlling Jgo’s aggressive tendencies.

In terms of defense, Sasuke was able to thwart Orochimaru’s effort to take control of his body, erode the dimensional space utilized by the Sannin’s technique, and eventually use it against him. Sasuke’s Sharingan skills were also displayed by his ability to neutralize a genjutsu as potent as Itachi’s Tsukuyomi while having weaker dōjutsu. Tobi added that Sasuke could easily catch opponents off guard with his illusions due to his inventiveness and impeccable timing. Sasuke’s ability to enter Naruto’s consciousness and block Kurama’s chakra, demonstrating that he has the power necessary to subdue animals with line, is one of the best demonstrations of the incredible degree that Sasuke’s Sharingan possesses.

As you can see, Sasuke’s Sharingan was very special. He developed numerous tomoe, and due to its immense power, people often think that it was actually the Rinne Sharingan we’ve seen in Kaguya and Madara. But, it was just a very special and powerful regular Sharingan that people mistake for the real deal. But, as we’ve said, it is not a Rinne Sharingan.
