Ahsoka: Natasha Liu Bordizzo Joins The Star Wars Disney+ Series As Sabine Wren

Many Star Wars projects are currently in development for Disney+. The Book of Boba Fett will debut next month, while Obi-Wan, Andor, The Mandalorian Season 3, and Ahsoka are all in active development with still unknown premiere dates.

Now, the Disney+ series Ahsoka, which stars Rosario Dawson in a titular role found a new cast member. Australian actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo joined the series. As reported by Variety, she will play Sabine Wren.

Natasha Liu Bordizzo made her acting debut in Netflix’s 2016 movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. She starred in the mystery teen drama The Society, in which she played the main role. She also appeared in The Greatest Showman, Guns Akimbo and Hotel Mumbai.

Sabine Wren, the character that Liu Bordizzo will portray is a Mandalorian, and one of the leaders of revolution against the Galactic Empire. She was a part of the animated show Star Wars Rebels, in which the character was portrayed by Tiya Sircar.

Rosario Dawson debuted as the live-action Ahsoka in the second season of The Mandalorian, and her spin-off show was announced in December 2020. Hayden Christensen is also set to return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the series, the role he will also reprise in the Obi-Wan series. The production is set to begin next year. The release date is still TBA.
