Anime characters appear in all shapes and sizes. They also appear under a variety of names. In that aspect, it is important to remember all of these names and that is why we have decided to bring you this list. This list is going to contain a list of anime characters that start with the letter U. They will be sorted alphabetically by the names they are known best, whether it is their first name, last name, or their nicknames.
Ukitake, Jūshirō (Bleach)
Jūshirō Ukitake is the captain of the 13th Division. He suffers from a serious lung disease (tuberculosis) which bothers him during certain fights and most of his functions are taken over by his subordinates. Her hair turned white three days after the first manifestation of her illness.
He is very involved in the execution of Rukia, as it is part of his division and he watches over his subordinates like a father. Since the command center does not cancel the execution, it will save Rukia by destroying the Sokyoku, the execution spear.
Despite his illness, he is a very powerful shinigami, he is one of the few who has a Zanpakutō transforming into twin swords during the shikai. His Bankai was never officially revealed, making him one of the small number of Captains whose Bankai have not been revealed in the series.
Ulquiorra Cifer is the Cuatro Espada, his number is tattooed on his left pectoral muscle, where the heart is. It does not have a known fraction to date. He is the Espada symbolizing nothingness. Ichigo was shocked to learn that he was the Cuatro Espada, mistaking him for the Primera, seeing that Ulquiorra was his goal.
The level difference with the Sexta Espada, Grimmjow Jaggerjack, whom Ichigo has defeated with difficulty, is abysmal. Ulquiorra seems to have complete trust in Aizen, and conversely, Aizen has never contradicted Ulquiorra’s decisions. He can release his zanpakutō and has the ability to regenerate limbs that he has lost except for his brain and internal organs.
Unohana, Retsu (Bleach)
Retsu Unohana was the captain of Division 4, one of the founding members of the Gotei 13, and the first Kenpachi, a title given to the captains of Squad 11. Before becoming a captain, Unohana was once regarded as the criminal more diabolical to the grace of Soul Society, being notorious for her sadistic bloodlust for battle.
She invented the “art of killing” and gave herself the name Yachiru Unohana. She had mastered all sorts of fighting arts. Unohana was desperate to find opponents who can give her satisfactory challenges until she fought Kenpachi, whom she regards as stronger than her after being able to give him a scar on his chest.
However, for unknown reasons, after becoming the captain of Division 4, Unohana became a soft-spoken woman who never showed discomfort even in the most dangerous situations and when they try demanding situations, she usually responded with sharp-minded solutions.
Urahara, Kisuke (Bleach)
Kisuke Urahara is a mysterious figure. He was exiled from Soul Society and owns a store of objects that come from it, a store that he runs thanks to two children, Jinta Hanakari and Ururu Tsumigaya, as well as a man named Tsukibashi Tessai (Former chief of Necromancers – Captain of Kido). Urahara is a longtime friend of Yoruichi.
Urahara is eternally banished from Soul Society, because he endangered it with his experiments, but also because Soul Society’s decisions about dealing with the results of his experiments are not right for him. Note that he also helped the current Vizards not to become Hollows, which is the main reason for his exile.
Later in the story, we will learn more about this character, about his past, about his powers: he is the former captain of the 12th division of Gotei 13, founder and first president of the scientific research section. Today, he is still a brilliant inventor (notably Gikais for the shinigami who come to earth). One hundred years ago, when he came to the head of his division, Hiyori was his lieutenant. He himself created and tested the technique to obtain the bankai in three days, which Ichigo is the second to master, in less than three days.
Uraraka, Ochako (My Hero Academia)
A rather frank and lively girl, a 1-A student like Midoriya and Bakugo. Despite her usually sunny appearance and character, she is very determined to become a great heroine. She has a Quirk called Zero Gravity, which allows her to cancel the effect of gravitational force on whatever object she touches with the pads she has on the last joint of her fingers and can cancel the effect of her power at any time. She can also make herself free from gravity by placing her hands in a particular position.
Ushiromiya, Battler (Umineko no Naku Koro ni)
The main protagonist of the story, he is the son of Rudolf and his first wife Asumu. When she died when Battler was only 12, Rudolf married Kyrie soon after, infuriating his son.
Unable to come to terms with his father betraying his own wife, Battler decided to leave the family and join the family on the maternal side but was forced to return to the Ushiromiya following the successive deaths of his maternal grandparents. Back after 6 years, this is his first visit to Rokkenjima. A little perverse around the edges, he is nevertheless very down to earth, treating with lightness all that is related to the occult.
This is how he presents himself at the end of Episode I as the designated opponent of the Golden Witch Beatrice, who challenges him: he will have to unravel all the mysteries surrounding Rokkenjima that are presented to him so that for her part, she will have to convince him that these are the work of her magic.
Ushōda, Hachigen (Bleach)
This Visored is an expert in Bakudo, and, therefore, is not very good at melee but has a sword. As a specialist in Bakudo, he becomes more or less friendly with Orihime Inoue because according to him, they possess the same type of power. He will help her in particular to regenerate Tsubaki, scattered during the fight against Yammy.
He was Tessai’s second in the Necromancer Corps and therefore he excels in matters of Kido and Bakudo. He will be sent to rescue the 9th division as a member of the special division, along with the other future vizards, he will immobilize Kensei and Mashiro with his Bakudo but will also end up transforming into a Hollow.
In the battle at Karakura he sent his right arm, infected by the power of Barragan Luisenbarn, into the latter’s stomach. This will have the purpose of killing the “King of the Hueco Mundo”. His power is such that he is able to send a type 99 bakudo without incantation (Kensei’s hollow paid the price in volume 36), which is remarkable.
Usopp (One Piece)
He is the only crew member who had officially separated by his own decision. Upon arriving at Water 7 to repair the Going Merry, and discovering that it is impossible to repair it, Luffy decides to change ships. This fact annoyed Usopp, who did not want to abandon him.
For this reason, he decides to separate from the crew, but not before fighting for the ship against Luffy in a duel, which Usopp he irretrievably loses. Despite that, Luffy gifts him the ship. Later, Usopp lends his help to rescue Robin in Enies Lobby, under the guise of Sogeking.
Uta (One Piece)
Uta is a world-famous diva and a major character in One Piece Film: Red. She is the daughter of Pirate Emperor Shanks. For some reason Uta wants Luffy to retire from piracy. Uta has excellent singing abilities, which are said to take the listener to another dimension, it is unknown if this ability is due to a devil fruit. Thanks to her singing ability, she has gained recognition and fame throughout the world, being a well-known diva, and attracting a large audience to her performances.
Uzui, Tengen (Demon Slayer)
He uses the Sound Breathing style, as well as two short blades linked by an iron chain. In battle, he often uses special bombs that can cause serious damage to the demon. He strikes when he hears a gap in the “song”. Also, Tengen can stop his heart for a while, as he did against Gyutaro, in order to stop the circulation of the poison.
Sound Breathing is a Breathing style that only Tengen uses. Sound Breathing is an offshoot of Thunder Breathing. With it, the slayer can read his opponent’s movements and deconstruct them into sounds. By analyzing what he has heard, he can understand the rhythm of the opponent’s movement and use this information for his own purposes. For example, to strike at a better time when the enemy opened up.
