All 11 Members of the Straw Hat Pirates Ranked by Strength

The Straw Hat Pirates are a pirate crew originally from East Blue, although their members hail from different regions of the world. They are the main focus and protagonists of the One Piece anime and manga, and are led by the main protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy. The “Straw Hats” are so named after Luffy’s Straw Hat, given to him by Shanks, and are first called “Straw Hat Pirates” by Smoker in Alabasta. Following past events on The Sabaody Archipelago, the nine members were separated from each other. For two years, they trained in relatively isolated places, growing stronger in order to help each other. They then reunited and became an active and massive force in the New World. Currently, the crew numbers 11 members and in this article, we are going to rank them by strength.

11. Usopp

Despite not excelling in physical abilities, Usopp, like his father, possesses exceptional marksmanship; he is able to hit multiple people without missing once at distances where they are barely visible, which is especially noticeable in Enies Lobby when he manages to defeat Spandam (leader of CP9) and his soldiers on the island and throws the remaining keys to Franky (coinciding with Sogeking’s song part even in the eye of a mouse LOCK ON).

During the Loguetown saga he got some glasses that increase his field of vision thanks to Ensign Daddy Masterson. Usopp has been shown to be the crewman with the longest attack range and vision and the best at ranged attacks, followed by Nico Robin (via his devil fruit) and Luffy (also via devil fruit); although Zoro can also attack at a distance, he doesn’t have a very wide attack range.

To attack, Usopp uses a slingshot and fires small spherical projectiles that he made himself and calls them stars (Boshis). Each star has different effects: there are from explosives, smoke, fire, spikes and even hot sauce. He has also been seen using rotten eggs, rocks, and shurikens as ammunition.

From time to time, he uses a hammer to hit his opponents, which although it doesn’t seem very effective, with it he managed to defeat Chew (from Arlong’s gang) and Mr. 4 (from Baroque Works). In addition to the hammer, he uses a small blackboard that he scratches with his nails to distract enemies.

Among his “lies” tactics are his 5-ton Hammer and 10-ton Hammer, used against Mr.4 and Perona; Usopp’s “Elastic (Usopp Wagomu)”, which is nothing more than a simple rubber band with which he distracts or deceives his enemies, making them believe that he is going to make an attack (used against Hatchan, Chew and Arlong, the latter did not fall for the deception).

The “Usopp Spell” that he used against Enel and also against Luffy, where he makes his opponents imagine things that he tells them. Another attack he uses is “ketchup star sure kill” where he spits ketchup out of his mouth to simulate spitting blood to make the opponent hesitate. Used against Luffy and Chew (the latter believed that Usopp had died from his attack so he left). Following the Straw Hats’ visit to Skypiea, Usopp has added the Dials he got there to his arsenal.

10. Brook

Brook ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi, which caused his body to revive, since he had died before. This caused his body to decompose and give him his current appearance (that of a skeleton). With this he became very light and fast, making it difficult for him to sink into the sea (although, being a devil fruit user, he also sinks hopelessly). Thanks to that, he is able to run in water without sinking (as long as he doesn’t jump into it).

Before he died, Brook was already quite skinny, so it’s likely that he was already speedy on his own. Thanks to all of the above, Brook may be the physically weakest crewman, but he would make up for it by being the fastest, only embezzled when Luffy executes gear second or gear fourth. He has also become immune to the pain of fractures and is able to even crack open his skull without difficulty (he did it to save the Tone Dial that held Binks Sake).

To make the most of this ability, Brook drinks milk (a natural source of calcium), his favorite beverage. In addition to these abilities, Brook is a skilled swordsman, although unlike Zoro, he is a fencer; and he only uses a very special sword: a “Shikomizue”, a peculiar cane that keeps a saber inside.

He is the weakest crew member physically (even more than Usopp), but he makes up for it by being the fastest crew member and despite his weakness he is very brave (unlike Usopp, who is very cowardly). In battles, Brook uses music to fight: with his violin he plays a sleeping song. Once the opponents have fallen asleep, Brook attacks them at full speed.

9. Tony Tony Chopper

Although it is rare for doctors to fulfill functions other than medical practices for the benefit of those around them such as the doctor as the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates does, but Chopper’s responsibilities in the crew are not limited to acting as the ship’s health authority. He has often been seen serving as the ship’s unofficial helmsman, especially when the Going Merry was still in use.

During battles, he fulfills the role of a physical fighter. Chopper usually fights using the Rumble Ball that he transforms with. 8. Nefertari Vivi

Vivi is a very good double agent, managing to infiltrate the Baroque Works organization and become a frontier agent by forming a duo with Mr. 9. She manages to stay there for two years, until her true identity is discovered. , and to go unnoticed in Alabasta (the citizens do not recognize it). Being a princess, Vivi doesn’t have much battle experience.

However, as she is in the ninth duo of Baroque Works, she and her associate therefore outrank four other duos in the organization. Vivi can also use Kaloo. On her own, she exhibits surprising natural agility, often dodging attacks gracefully and almost instinctively, as she seems startled after it happens. She tends to tackle her opponent and hold them down, like with Luffy or even Kohza twice. Her techniques, coupled with the tumble of Mr. 9, give a danceable theme to the duet.

7. Nami

As the Straw Hat Pirates’ navigator, Nami is responsible for assessing the direction the ship takes as they head out to sea. Nami also often acts as the crew’s de facto treasurer, managing the crew’s money and allocating spending money whenever they arrive at a new location. Other than Sanji, the crew’s cook, Nami is the only one of the crew who possesses basic cooking knowledge.

Before Sanji joined the crew, Nami agreed to cook for a fee, and in her absence, she returned to this role. At first, he again charged money for performing this service, but after Luffy disastrously chose to cook for the crew in order to avoid having to pay him, he finally agreed to cook for free, being able to cook a delicious fish following one of the recipes that Sanji left on the ship.

Nami possesses a strong enough willpower to be able to resist Big Mom’s Haoshoku Haki. Nami spent most of her life stealing money from numerous people, including dangerous pirates, to buy back her village from the Arlong Pirates; these harsh and sometimes brutal experiences gave Nami a very high level of physical capabilities. In the Water 7 arc, she demonstrated exceptional agility and incredible leg strength, being able to jump the great distances between the rooftops of Water 7.

Nami is also physically very strong and fit, and when considerably angry, especially when Luffy recklessly spends the money, he can deliver extremely powerful blows, which can cause Luffy, who has tremendously tough durability, to end up with noticeable and bloody bruises (this, however, is mainly a comedy gag, and does not represent the Nami’s actual strength). 6. Franky

The modifications made to his body as well as his activity as a bounty hunter and ship-stripper within the Franky Family have made Franky a true monster of power, allowing him, among other things, to briefly match Monkey D. Luffy before the Galley-La Company carpenters interrupt their fight. Franky is strong enough to manage to subdue Blueno by lifting him up by the face.

After recharging his reserves of Cola, he easily broke Fukuro’s Tekkai, despite Fukuro being an experienced Rokushiki user. Even when he found himself craving Cola after that fight, he still had enough strength left to stop the charging elephant Funkfreed, before lifting him up by his trunk and smashing him into Spandam.

5. Nico Robin

3. Vinsmoke Sanji

Sanji is one of the four best fighters in the crew along with Luffy, Zoro, and Jinbe. He currently has the third highest bounty in the crew after Luffy and Jinbe, ahead of Zoro. While Luffy usually fights the most powerful enemies, Sanji and Zoro usually end up fighting enemies considered second or third most powerful.

Sanji and Zoro’s opponents are often decided by how they fight, namely that Zoro will fight the group’s swordsman while Sanji will deal with the Martial Artist. Along with Jinbe, Sanji is the only member of the crew to fight relying solely on his raw power and skill, without weapons or Devil Fruits.

Although Sanji and Zoro usually let their rivalry get in the way of their fighting performance, they mostly put their rivalry aside to help Luffy the best they can, going after strong enemies while Luffy takes on the strongest one. 2. Roronoa Zoro

Zoro is an exceptional swordsman who didn’t wait to be in the Straw Hat Pirates to build a solid reputation. He is indeed, at the beginning of the series, the famous Pirate Hunter of East Blue, already feared and respected. To quote Supernova crew members on The Sabaody Archipelago, he’s not the kind of person to be under someone’s orders. To quote the Water 7 and Zambai workers, he has the strength to be a captain.

Zoro is a follower of a style of kendô that he himself created and baptized Santoryû. Few people misunderstand his abilities, because, unlike Luffy or Sanji, he inspires fear from the start with his cold air and his hard gaze and is, according to Ryuma the zombie samurai, like a wild beast. Brook qualifies him alongside Ryuma as having Power of Destruction.

It should be noted that Zoro, who trains hard, is the only One Piece character who is witnessed in the current training. We’ve seen him lift terribly heavy weights in every way possible, do one-finger push-ups with those same weights on his feet, swim in freezing water shirtless, or meditate for hours. 1. Monkey D. Luffy

Being the hero of the manga, he has often demonstrated that he can break rocks with his fists and even break sword blades with his teeth. Luffy has proven that in addition to physical strength, he has sheer determination, willpower, and stamina on many occasions. After the timeskip, Luffy is shown to be immune to poison since his fight against Magellan. Luffy doesn’t seem to practice any martial arts like Zoro and Sanji do. He fights with all the parts of his body as he sees fit (For example: When he bit Rob Lucci, or even spat water on Crocodile).

His style is improvisational and quite unpredictable, making him able to surprise his enemies like he did against Crocodile by altering his use of the Gomu Gomu no Pistol.
