Before the DCEU and DCU, there was the Arrowverse, a vast cinematic universe that showcased both major and minor characters from DC Comics.
While the Arrowverse often received mixed reviews due to its campy tone and concerns about the quality of its shows, it remains a significant part of DC’s history. It also delivered some of the best portrayals of Flash (Grant Gustin) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) in television history.
The characters have had limited on-screen interactions compared to others, so they never really had a chance to measure their powers—or speeds. In the comics, Flash is generally faster than Superman, winning most of their races.
But what about the Arrowverse? To find out, we turned to some unexpected sources.
At the Fan Expo Dallas event, the casts of The Flash and Superman & Lois held a panel where Candice Patton (Iris West-Allen) and Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane) debated who is faster: Grant Gustin’s Flash or Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman. You can watch the full clip below.
As you can see, the actresses couldn’t reach a consensus, even though Patton had the technically correct answer. Tulloch, however, shifted the focus by rephrasing the question from who would win a race to who is the more powerful superhero, which leads to Superman being the winner.
With The Flash wrapping up its storyline last year and Superman & Lois currently in its final season, it’s unlikely that we’ll see an on-screen race between the two characters.
What do you think? Who is faster? Let us know in the comments below!
