Bob Iger Hints Only at ‘Captain America 4’ & ‘Fantastic Four’ For 2025, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Still Scheduled for 2024 Release

Bob Iger Hints Only at Captain America 4 Fantastic Four for 2025 Daredevil Born Again Still Scheduled for 2024 Release

A few months back, Bob Iger revealed that Marvel Studios intends to shift its focus from quantity to prioritize quality, prompted by disappointing box office performances of two out of three recent MCU releases. Disney acknowledges that the previous formula no longer resonates with audiences, recognizing that merely attaching the Marvel logo does not guarantee success at the box office.

In 2024, ‘Deadpool 3’ stands as the sole film release alongside Disney+ shows. This movie is being hailed as a potential savior of the MCU, with the studio pinning hopes on it to revive the excitement and allure that characterized high-budget superhero productions before the monumental success of “Endgame.”

Iger has now discussed ‘Captain America 4’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ as the only slated movie releases for 2025.

Just a reminder, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ was initially slated for a 2024 release, even swapping release dates with ‘Deadpool 3’ at one stage. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike and extensive reshoots and rewrites, the film was pushed back an entire year. While Iger’s release schedule aligns with the “quality over quantity” ethos, his mention of only these two movies likely stems from the enduring popularity of Captain America and Fantastic Four.

Rumors Abound: ‘Fantastic Four’ Undergoes Rewriting With New Writers in Place

Interestingly, the official Disney release plan still lists ‘Thunderbolts’ and ‘Blade’ as “2025 & Beyond,” leaving room for interpretation. Notably, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ remains on track for a 2024 release, despite widespread reports suggesting a delay to 2025 or later due to reshoots and rewrites. Additionally, ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ is the only other project mentioned, with no updates on previously anticipated animated projects like ‘Marvel Zombies’ and ‘Eyes of Wakanda.’
