Brolin Confirms He Won’t Be Reprising His Role as Cable in ‘Deadpool 3′

One of the biggest upcoming movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is definitely ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ This third installment is significant for a few reasons. It marks Deadpool’s introduction into the MCU and stands as the only MCU film slated for release in 2024. There’s hope that it will help regain some of the trust lost by fans due to several poorly received movies in recent years.

Recently, a teaser trailer dropped during the Superbowl, giving us a peek into the movie’s plot. We see Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, trying to get on with his life after bringing Vanessa back in ‘Deadpool 2.’ However, his plans are interrupted when he’s nabbed by TVA Agent Mr. Paradox, though the reason remains a mystery. The teaser also confirmed the return of several familiar faces from the ‘Deadpool’ series. Morena Baccarin’s return was announced a few weeks ago, while Rob Delaney reprises his role as Peter, who was also brought back to life in the previous movie’s finale.

Leslie Uggams returns as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Shiolo Kutsuna as Yukio, and Lewis Tan is back as Shatterstar.

The Trailer for ‘Deadpool 3’ Shows the Main Villain of the Film: Cassandra Nova

If you’ve looked at the cast list, you might be curious about two key characters from the previous movie: Josh Brolin’s Cable and Zazie Beetz’s Domino. Zazie Beetz said a few months back that she won’t be returning, and Brolin confirmed this yesterday in an interview with Collider.

When asked why, Brolin jokingly said Ryan doesn’t like him. It’s hard to believe since Ryan Reynolds is rumored to be great to work with. Also, there’s the plot issue: Cable’s time-traveling devices played a big role in bringing back almost half of the current movie’s cast. The post-credit scene of ‘Deadpool 2’ hinted that “Cable is going to kill Deadpool” once he finds out what Wade has done.

It’s disappointing that Domino and Cable won’t be in the movie since they were important characters. But on the bright side, Brolin mentioned he heard rumors about Thanos returning to the MCU, so that’s something.
