Despite ‘The Marvels’ Setback, Captain Marvel’s MCU Future Shines Bright According to Most Recent Reports

Captain Marvel, one of the MCU’s most powerful characters, is a crucial former member of the Avengers. However, her latest film struggled at the box office, casting doubt on her future in the franchise.
Brie Larson has mentioned that there are more stories to explore, suggesting she is open to reprising her role, though fans remain skeptical about what lies ahead.
With the conclusion of The Marvels, Captain Marvel’s purpose is now clear. Rumors suggest that she may attempt to rescue Monica Rambeau from the alternate reality where she is currently trapped, while also uncovering the secrets of the Cosmic Bands.
In his latest AMA, Alex Perez from Cosmic Circus addressed what’s next for Captain Marvel.
Fans asked Alex whether Captain Marvel might appear in upcoming films like Spider-Man 4, Captain America 4, and Shang-Chi 2, highlighting the connection between Brie Larson and director Destin Daniel Cretton.
Alex replied that while a cameo in Spider-Man 4 is possible, her next significant appearance is likely in Avengers: Doomsday, where she will have a major role. When asked if Captain Marvel would be a lead or a key Avenger in Doomsday and Secret Wars, with hopes that her role wouldn’t be minimized, Alex confirmed that she would indeed be one of the leading Avengers in both films.
I should also highlight that Alex mentioned Sam Wilson’s Captain America will serve as one of the co-leaders of the new Avengers. Captain Marvel has always been positioned to eventually assume a significant leadership role within the Avengers. Her immense power, military background, and strong ties to other cosmic communities make her an ideal candidate.
In a time when the stakes are higher than ever, with not just Earth but the entire Multiverse in peril, there’s no one better suited to lead the Avengers. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!
