While ‘Deadpool 3’ is the sole upcoming MCU project slated for a 2024 release, anticipation is reaching new heights for the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot within the next 2 or 3 years. Previous reports hinted at Pedro Pascal in discussions for Reed Richards, and Vanessa Kirby already secured as Sue Storm. In the latest wave of rumors, credible insider Daniel Richtman suggests that the cast has now been finalized, and Marvel Studios is on the verge of unveiling the actors set to portray Marvel’s inaugural family in the upcoming reboot.

Although Reed Richards and Sue Storm’s portrayals seem relatively certain, the actors for Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm remain undecided. Ebon Moss-Bachrach emerges as the frontrunner for The Thing, offering intriguing remarks to the press when questioned about the prospective role.

Rumors are circulating that the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ film may introduce Nova, with Ryan Gosling rumored to portray this noteworthy character. Gosling, known for his recent success as Ken in the ‘Barbie’ movie, continues to ride a wave of popularity.

The ‘Fantastic Four’ project was first announced by Kevin Feige in 2019 as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next phase. Originally helmed by Jon Watts, director of MCU’s Spider-Man films, the project saw a shift when Watts stepped down in December 2020. In July of the following year, Feige revealed that the reboot would skip the origin story.

Matt Shakman entered discussions to direct in August and was officially confirmed in September during the Disney event D23. Writers Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer were brought on board the same month, with Josh Friedman joining in March 2023 for script revisions. Principal photography was slated to commence in London in January 2024.

Initially set for release on November 8, 2024, the ‘Fantastic Four’ premiere date underwent changes, moving to February 14, 2025, and eventually settling on May 2, 2025, aligning with Phase Six of the MCU.
