Over the course of the story, Chainsaw Man has introduced us to a variety of characters, many of which have left a significant mark on the series as a whole and are well-known by the fans, while some others are (still) mysteries. In this article, we are going to talk about a relatively new character that has been introduced in the manga, a seemingly female Fiend that the fans have dubbed the “Nail Fiend,” and we are going to tell you all that is known about the character as a whole.

The “Nail FIend” is a currently unofficial fan name given to an unnamed Fiend that is seemingly working for Public Safety, based on the attire. Based on its appearance, the “Nail Devil” seemingly possessed a female corpse, although the face is invisible, so it is impossible to tell. The powers and abilities of this Fiend have not been revealed, but it can probably manipulate nails and injure its opponents with them. This is a relatively new character, so it remains to be seen whether its story is going to be explored further, but this is all the information that are currently known about this character.

The rest of this article will focus on the character the fans named the “Nail FIend” and its role in the Chainsaw Man series. This intriguing character has been featured in recent manga chapters. Although not much information has been provided, we will still bring you as many details as possible so that you know everything about the character. If you haven’t read the manga, we must warn you that there will be spoilers in this article.

The “Nail Fiend” is an unofficial name, but the character itself is relatively enigmatic at this time

Chainsaw Man is a series that has certainly introduced its fair share of various characters, some of which have made an impact. In contrast, others have remained a mystery, mostly because they were not important enough to merit a proper story. But even some characters that have made an impact were left without a proper story.

As far as the character we’re going to talk about in this article is concerned, we don’t really know what the author has in store for the so-called “Nail Fiend,” but we have decided to tell you everything that we could find out or deduce about it in this article.

So, the character we are talking about is an unnamed Fiend who seems to be working for Public Safety, based on its clothing. However, it is possible that the Devil in question simply possessed a Public Safety member’s corpse without actually being aligned with the organization.

The unnamed Fiend has been dubbed the “Nail Fiend” by the fans, although – based on its appearance – it could very well turn out that that is the character’s actual name. We will have to wait for a confirmation, and until then, we will keep calling it the “Nail Fiend.” Before we continue, allow us to tell you what a Fiend in Chainsaw Man is.

Fiends are Devils that have possessed a person’s corpse as a last resort to survive. After becoming a Fiend, a Devil loses a significant portion of their supernatural powers and the ability to make contracts with humans. Fiends are easily recognizable because their heads have different shapes, as shown by Power’s horns, Beam’s shark head, or Pingtsi’s hair.

Fiends have the personalities of the Devils who gained control of their corpses. Still, because different Devils retain different amounts of the minds of the original corpses they have possessed, their personalities meld. The Violence Fiend is the sole example of this that is currently known despite having a natural propensity towards violence.

Fiends have some of the same supernatural prowess as their corresponding Devils. Still, these powers are somewhat weaker, and some of them can briefly become the original Devils that have possessed the corpse, but only for a short time. Blood can also be used to replenish their health, although they do not have the power to enter into contracts with humans or devils. Although they are odd, they appear to be the weakest of the three groups that are the series’ focus.

Now that we have explained this, allow us to return to the “Nail Fiend”. So, as you can imagine, the “Nail Fiend” is a corpse possessed by the Nail Devil; people are afraid of nails, so it is imaginable that a Nail Devil actually exists in the series. We don’t know the character’s official name, as it could also be the “Hammer Fiend,” based on the weapon it is holding, but the fan name is certainly not far off.

The Devil in question has seemingly possessed the corpse of a girl or a feminine-looking man, based on the physique and hair. However, since the face is not visible, it is impossible to determine who the corpse actually was.

As for its powers and abilities, we know basically nothing, which can also be said about its story. We can notice that it has some nails in its head and a hammer in its hand, which is a pretty logical combination, as hammers are used for hammering nails. And while it makes sense that the “Nail Fiend” uses a hammer for attacking with the nails, we actually have no clue how it functions and how the “Nail Fiend” uses its powers in the series, i.e., how it puts the hammer and the nails to use in a fight. Still, we hope that the manga will reveal more details soon.
