Daki vs Gyutaro: Who Would Win?

Daki vs Gyutaro: Who Would Win?

This is not the first time we’re actually comparing siblings here on Fiction Horizon and although such cases are quite rare, this instance is even rarer and, in that segment, even more special. Our earlier comparisons related to the Demon Slayer series encompassed one Demon Slayer and one Demon. This is actually going to be the first time that we’re comparing two Demons and they’re siblings at that. You’ve guessed it – in this article, we are going to determine who the stronger sibling is – Daki or Gyutaro!

Gyutaro is the stronger sibling in this case and were it to come to a fight, he would defeat Daki. Gyutaro was considered, even by Muzan, as one of the most powerful Twelve Kizuki and had the potential to be even stronger. While Daki had her own powers, Gyutaro has additionally enhanced them as he is clearly the more powerful sibling.

Now that you have the short version of the answer, the rest of the article is going to be divided into three sections, with the first two introducing the characters, their powers, and their abilities. In the end, we’re going to give our final verdict and explanation on why Gyutaro is stronger than Daki, even if not by much.

Overall

Being the true holder of the position of the Upper Moon Six and receiving more blood from Muzan, Gyutaro was an incredibly powerful demon, as he himself had the necessary strength, experience, and skills to easily fight both Tengen and Tanjiro, a very talented fighter and crushes them both in battle.

The extent of Gyutaro’s skill and strength is described in Tanjiro’s words after the Demon Slayer first met him and noted that Gyutaro’s aura, murderous intent, and lust were several leagues higher than his sister’s, causing the young hunter to subconsciously retreat from fear of him. Gyutaro also later stated that he successfully killed and ate fifteen Hashira during his long life as a Demon, further demonstrating his abilities as an Upper Moon.

Another testament to his strength is the fact that even though Gyutaro was killed in battle, he was still capable of seriously injuring Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, and poisoning him. He would have killed Tanjiro and Inosuke without Nezuko’s unique Blood Demon Art. And if it weren’t for his own arrogance that got the best of him, he probably won and would have killed them all himself.

Daki is considered to be a powerful Demon, whom Muzan personally recognized as a “Special Demon”. She was able to overwhelm and maintain an advantage over Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira – all of whom were talented fighters. She maintained her original claim as one of the Upper Moons of the Twelve Kizuki. However, her rank and position among the Moons is only due to her brother’s powers and abilities, which augment her own.

As the last sentence concludes, Daki was able to become so powerful and respected only because of her brother, who could have, as Muzan said, become the most powerful demon of them all had it not been for his arrogance. This is why Gyutaro gets this point.

Points: Daki 0, Gyutaro 1

Flesh Manipulation

Gyutaro, like many demons, has the ability to freely manipulate and control his flesh as he pleases, with Gyutaro having enough skill in manipulating his body on a cellular level and even fusing it with his sister’s body to amplify all of her powers.

Thanks to this, he can also give Daki immunity to decapitation, meaning that no matter how many times her head is cut off, it won’t start to disintegrate unless Gyutaro is killed at the same time. Gyutaro has also shown the ability to freely manipulate his joints however he wants by manipulating his flesh, as seen when he manages to make a full 180-degree turn by turning his neck.

Daki has also shown the ability to freely manipulate her flesh to change her neck to have the properties of a cloth belt, as seen when she turned her neck into a long cloth belt to avoid being decapitated by Tanjiro.

While both of them have the same power, it is absolutely clear that a lot of Daki’s powers actually come from Gyutaro’s abilities, including this one; Daki does have her own Flesh Manipulation skills, but they are further enhanced by Gyutaro’s powers, which is why he gets this point as well.

Points: Daki 0, Gyutaro 2

Core Detachment

Daki has demonstrated the ability to create sentient flesh units from her own body, as seen when she was able to create living flesh flaps to guard and protect her “warehouse” and keep an eye on her “meat”, and again when she created more one living case to keep an eye on Hinatsuru, suspecting her of being a spy for the Demon Hunters.

Gyutaro has the ability to completely separate his “Core” from his own body, and it appears to take the form of a right eye, which he then implants into Daki’s sister. The forehead, which then enhances all of his sister’s abilities, increases her kinetic vision to the point where she can easily deal with Lightning Breath’s high-speed attacks.

Through this, Gyutaro also develops a psychic bond with her and allows him to see, hear, and feel everything she does, and even possess and control her body to better coordinate her attacks.

And while Gyutaro’s powers are definitely on a higher lever than Daki’s here, we decided to split the points here because, as it seems, Daki’s Core Detachment powers aren’t that much dependent on Gyutaro’s powers.

Points: Daki 1, Gyutaro 3

Blood Demon Art

Gyutaro uses his Blood Sickles (Chigamo) to separate his own flesh and blood to form a pair of double sickles. He uses these sickles in tandem with his Blood Demon Techniques to perform attacks, and coats the blades of the sickles with deadly poison to increase their effectiveness in combat.

Gyutaro also showed that he could also freely control and manipulate the cells containing the Sickles, as seen when he could infect Tengen Uzui and Tanjiro Kamado’s swords with his flesh to prevent them from pulling out their blades and effectively keep them in place.

Her Demon Blood Art allows her to freely use her belt as a melee weapon, capable of cutting through even buildings. She can also use the belt as storage for people to eat later.

Despite their inherent connection, Gyutaro’s Blood Demon Art is much more useful and powerful than Daki’s, which is why this last category goes to Gyutaro without any doubts.

Daki vs Gyutaro: Who would win?

And now for the most important and interesting section of our article – the analysis. Here, we are going to use what we have found out about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would (or would not) help them in a fight against each other. Let us continue.

The end result of this comparison is completely clear, but even without the numbers, it was quite obvious that Gyutaro was the stronger sibling. Deki is powerful but as we have established, almost all of her reputation stems from the fact that she is Gyutaro’s sister and that she is paired (i.e., connected) with him. On her own, Daki wouldn’t be considered as powerful as she is.

Gyutaro, on the other hand, had the potential to become the strongest among the Twelve Kizuki but was, according to Muzan, too arrogant for his own good, which is why he ended up being killed. Despite of that, he is extremely powerful and beats out Daki in every category; in fact, he was the source of her powers in a lot of ways and she depended on him.

That is why, ultimately, we had Gyutaro winning this one.
