‘Fast X’: Behind the Scenes Image Spoils Meadow Walker’s Cameo Role

Apart from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Fast X is probably the most attractive blockbuster that will hit theaters this May. The tenth and penultimate installment of Universal Pictures’ gigantic franchise is less than a month away. With the whole ensemble cast set to appear in the movie, it was now revealed that the movie would also feature a cameo from Meadow Walker, daughter of the deceased Paul Walker, who played Brian O’Conner in six Fast & Furious movies before his tragic death in 2013.

It’s been almost a decade since Paul Walker left this world too soon, but the Fast & Furious franchise is still here. The character of Brian O’Conner retired at the end of the seventh installment, and the franchise continued without him, although he was mentioned in both The Fate of the Furious and F9, which were released after Furious 7. It is expected that Fast X will mention Brian as well, but the movie will also feature Meadow Walker, Paul’s daughter, in a cameo role.

According to behind-the-scenes images that recently surfaced on social media, Meadow Walker will appear in the movie as the stewardess who will meet John Cena’s Jakob Toretto and Leo Abelo Perry’s Brian Marcos in a scene that is evidently happening on a passenger plane. From what we know about the movie, Jakob’s task will be to protect Dominic Toretto’s son while Dom and the rest of the crew are trying to take down Dante, a new villain played by Jason Momoa. After being the villain in F9, Jakob will now be a cool and protective uncle. While Meadow Walker’s role doesn’t seem to be crucial for the movie’s plot, she apparently accepted to appear in the movie in some way. She is primarily a model and doesn’t have any acting experience, so this cameo marks her debut in acting.

Paul Walker was a part of the franchise’s original cast when he debuted in 2001’s The Fast and the Furious. Before his death, he appeared in all the movies in the franchise except The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. In a tragic car accident, Walker’s life tragically ended on November 30, 2013. At the time of his death, the seventh installment of the franchise was in the middle of production, and it was decided that Walker’s footage would be used in the movie, and his brothers Cody and Caleb stepped in to film the rest of the scenes. The movie was dedicated to Paul, and the movie’s ending made us all feel emotional.

Fast X features an ensemble cast that includes Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jason Momoa, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, John Cena, Jason Statham, Sung Kang, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Brie Larson, and Rita Moreno. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the movie is set to be released on May 18, 2023.
