First Footage of ‘Masters of the Universe’ Drops, and It’s Stunning—Plus a Peek at Skeletor

I just got a first look at ‘Masters of the Universe’ and it looks amazing. Amazon and MGM showed off some early footage of the film, and even though it’s still being shot in the United Kingdom, what I saw was enough to get me excited. Director Travis Knight is bringing this classic toy line to life, and it’s clear he’s putting everything into it.
The movie stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, and we got a glimpse of him in action. Picture this—a young guy sitting on a bed, lost in thought, then later sprawled out on the floor in those pink-and-white Prince Adam clothes we all know.
The footage also showed him swinging the famous Sword of Power in a stone room with a big metal stand holding it. Add in some shots of him pumping iron with ‘Masters of the Universe’ posters on the gym walls, and you can see he’s getting into character.
Then there’s Jared Leto as Skeletor. We didn’t catch his face yet, but he was rocking a detailed all-black costume with blue skin, looking every bit the villain we expect. The team’s going for a real, live-action feel here—not some cartoon vibe. They even flashed some quick concept art of other characters like Evil-Lyn, Man-at-Arms, and the Sorceress, all looking close to the originals but with a fresh twist.
Knight sent a message to CinemaCon, saying he’s been dreaming of this movie his whole life. He’s not wrong about the scale—huge sets are being built, and there’s plenty of CGI to create Eternia.
Camila Mendes, who plays Teela, popped up in the footage too, training with jump wires and running sideways. The cast is stacked with names like Idris Elba, Alison Brie, and Morena Baccarin, so we’re in for something big.
It also looks like we are not the only one that liked this ‘Masters of the Universe’ footage as you can see below.
The footage wrapped up with Galitzine fighting in his full He-Man gear, long hair blowing in the wind. Producers like Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal are behind this, and after years of trying, they’ve landed it with Amazon MGM. Mark your calendars—it’s hitting theaters June 5, 2026, and from what we’ve seen, it’s shaping up to be a wild ride.
