Hagoromo vs. Naruto: Who Would Win in a Fight?

The Ōtsutsuki Clan is one of the most powerful groups in the Naruto and Boruto and the principal antagonists of the whole saga. Over the years, we’ve been introduced to numerous members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan, with Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki being one of the Clan’s most powerful members. Now, Naruto Uzumaki, the series’ protagonist, has fought and defeated a lot of members of the clan, but is Hagoromo among them? We shall discover the answer to that question in this article.

While Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki is one of the most powerful Ōtsutsuki, Naruto has – in the meantime – surpassed his level and would be able to defeat him. Naruto has grown immensely since meeting Hagoromo and fighting Kaguya, becoming much stronger than them, and that is why he would come out as the winner in this one.

Chakra and Physical Prowess

Being a man of great wisdom and power, Hagoromo invented Ninshū as a way to bring peace to a war-torn world, sharing his Chakra to connect everyone. With this, Hagoromo intended to connect all human beings and bring harmony by giving people a better understanding of themselves as well as each other. Following the death of Hagoromo, people began to connect both their physical and spiritual energy by joining their Chakra and amplifying it and turning it into a new power to fight each other and widen the gap that already existed in humanity, this became known as like ninjutsu.

Being a descendant of the Uzumaki Clan, Naruto boasts incredible stamina and vitality, he won’t even age as much as others. It has been noted on several occasions that Naruto possesses a chakra capacity of exceptional proportions, thanks to his being a Jinchūriki of the Nine Tails, making his amounts of chakra four times greater than those of a Jōnin level ninja like Kakashi, after his training with Jiraiya.

He also possesses a very accelerated regeneration (partly thanks to Kurama’s power) allowing him to recover from minor or serious injuries in a matter of seconds or days respectively.

Although Hagoromo possesses an enormous amount of Chakra and is exceptionally skilled, Naruto’s forte is his Chakra and there’s no way that Hagoromo would beat him in this category at this point in the story.

Senjutsu / Dōjutsu

In the anime, Hagoromo awakened the Sharingan after finding Haori’s corpse. While using the Dōjutsu, Hagoromo gained a heightened ability to perceive and could apparently keep it active indefinitely. Notably, when he awakened the Sharingan, he did so with three tomoe in each eye. In the anime, seeing that he couldn’t stop Hamura who was being controlled by his mother, Hagoromo was forced to mortally wound him which caused him to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Hagoromo was able to quickly control his new power by managing to use the Susanoo and raise it to its maximum form, with which he was able to fight on par with the Ten-Tails, being able to block a Tailed Beast Ball with great ease just using his sword. Due to him simultaneously awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan alongside the Rinnegan, Hagoromo apparently did not suffer from the side effects of continued use of said eye.

Rinnegan Hagoromo inherited a form derived from his mother’s third eye, the Rinnegan. In the anime, Hagoromo awakened the Rinnegan after nearly killing Hamura to save him from Hamura’s influence. Hagoromo was thought to have been the only one capable of mastering the Rinnegan to a level very close to perfection. This power allowed him to have the ability to manipulate and control the five basic elements of nature.

After Jiraiya’s death at the hands of Nagato, Naruto began training with Fukasaku on Mount Myōboku to learn Senjutsu and how to enter Sage Mode. To achieve this, Naruto had to learn to detect and control the Natural Energy around him.

Once mastered, Naruto was able to perfect the Rasen Shuriken, so he could cast it, and learn the Kata of the Toads, the style of Taijutsu that uses natural energy around the user to improve the range and power of his attacks.

In Sage Mode, overall Naruto’s physical capabilities are dramatically enhanced to the point that he could launch entities much larger than himself with little to no effort, such as the Animal Path Giant Rhinoceros and Kurama.

Due to Hagoromo’s immense powers, we had to split the points in this category. Naruto probably does surpass Hagoromo, but we have to give credit to his enormous skills.

Ninjutsu

Although Hagoromo’s full potential is not known, he is considered the most powerful figure in history, only surpassed by his own mother Kaguya, a title that was demonstrated after having defeated the Ten-Tails with his brother Hamura, a beast who was considered a deity. Hagoromo began to be praised after becoming the first Jinchūriki with the great power of the Ten-Tails. He was also the first man to understand the nature of the Chakra itself.

This wisdom, along with his Kekkei Mōra, the Rinnegan, allowed him to create the original form of Ninjutsu, the Ninshū. With these powers at his disposal, Hagoromo gained a huge following, men and women from all over the world who strove to learn his teachings.

His Chakra power was so great that he was even able to transcend time, being able to continue observing the world and meeting people many centuries after his death. It was further established that Hagoromo’s power contained the Yin-Yang Element.

In the Academy, the Sexy Technique was the only technique Naruto could successfully perform that had no practical use other than shocking people. Later, he learned more advanced and useful ninjutsu from Jiraiya. These included summoning toads from Mount Myōboku to help him crush his enemies from above.

He became adept at shurikenjutsu and was able to throw weapons quickly and accurately. Naruto’s repertoire expanded to fūinjutsu, where he could store his weapons in scrolls. His fūinjutsu was further improved when he obtained Gerotora at the start of the Fourth Shinobi World War.

This is a category where we actually have to give the points to Hagoromo. Okay, sure, Naruto is a brilliant Ninja, but Hagoromo is considered to be one of the most powerful fighters ever and we believe that his skills did surpass Naruto’s in this category.

Bukijutsu / Taijutsu

Hagoromo was shown to possess two objects. One of them was what seemed to be a katana, implying that he was a skilled shinobi in the field of Kenjutsu, and the other object that he carried was a Shakujō, a Buddhist ringed staff that monks usually use. In the same way, he possessed a double Shakujō formed from the Gudōdamas.

Hagoromo also made a large sword that has a shape similar to a DNA chain, which is called the Sword of Nunoboko, with which he was able to help himself create the world. This sword, being made up of Chakra spheres, has the ability to eliminate all Ninjutsu.

Naruto had always been average in taijutsu, ever since the Academy where he got a B in that category. Throughout Part 1, his taijutsu slowly improved, he first excelled in his battle against Kiba Inuzuka during the Chūnin Exam where he was able to stand up to him and dodge attacks. multiples of Kiba and Akamaru.

Naruto’s taijutsu improved greatly under Jiraiya’s tutelage, where he could hold his own against Sora, Chiyo, Kakashi Hatake, Yamato, and Sai. Throughout the series, his taijutsu continued to improve. He learned the Toad Kata from Fukasaku, which allowed him to defeat Gakidō, and fight hand-to-hand against Tendo. In addition to his taijutsu skills, Naruto exhibited a high level of physical strength.

During the Chūnin Exam, he stopped a giant snake of Orochimaru using Kyūbi’s chakra. During his senjutsu training in Part 2, he was able to move one of the huge statues without using the special oil. After training, he gained extraordinary strength, possibly equal to Tsunade and Sakura Haruno, if not more.

This category ultimately went to Naruto because his skills, in this category, seem to be more useful in battle than those of Hagoromo.

Hagoromo vs. Naruto: Who wins?

And now for the most important and interesting section of our article – the analysis. Here, we are going to use what we have found out about these two characters and analyze how all these facts would (or would not) help them in a fight against each other. Let us continue.

The difference between Naruto and Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki is really not that big, no. Namely, we all know what it took for Naruto to defeat Kaguya and Hagoromo is basically on the same level; the difference between Hagoromo and Kaguya is very small, almost insignificant, which is why Hagoromo is considered to be such a powerful member of the Ōtsutsuki Clan.

Now, Naruto is undeniably the most powerful character in the whole series and he is better than Hagoromo, that cannot be denied, but the difference is really not that big, no. Naruto has become more powerful than Hagoromo, but it took him a lot of time to do so. He is better than the Ōtsutsuki Clan member, but we cannot deny Hagoromo’s skills and abilities here.
