Harrison Ford Talks Red Hulk and US Presidents in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’: “we could really end up in a political Marvel movie”

We have less than three weeks to go until the release of ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ The movie is scheduled for Valentine’s Day release on February 14th and will be Sam Wilson’s first solo outing as Captain America in an MCU movie.

The cast of the movie features Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, who steps into the role as an underdog using his vibranium shield and wingsuit to prove himself as a leader. Danny Ramirez plays Joaquin Torres, Wilson’s friend and the new Falcon, while Carl Lumbly returns as Isaiah Bradley, a super soldier with a painful past.

The film will also introduce Harrison Ford’s President Thaddeus Ross, who becomes Red Hulk, Giancarlo Esposito as the villainous Sidewinder, and Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader, alongside several other notable characters.

As the movie’s promotion is heating up, Harrison Ford decided to use the opportunity to make some playful jabs targeted at the current state of U.S. politics. He joked that any similarities between U.S. Presidents, whether alive or dead and the Red Hulk character are purely coincidental, emphasizing that no President has the ability to transform into a Hulk.

Any resemblance to US Presidents living or dead is entirely coincidental, in other words. So far, we have not had a President who can transform into a Hulk.

But he also reflected on the unusual and unpredictable nature of politics, suggesting that the extreme situations seen in superhero movies might one day feel like something we could experience in real life, almost like a political Marvel movie.

We have not faced these kinds of circumstances in our political life, although we’ve had enough of a glimpse of the range of political life to realize that we could really end up in a political Marvel movie.

Ford is likely not happy with the current political situation in the U.S. considering that the actor previously endorsed Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 elections. Ford warned about the importance of listening to former members of the Trump administration who are warning against another term under his leadership.

He highlighted that many of these figures, who have spent their careers supporting the Republican Party, are now voting for someone without an “R” next to their name because they believe the situation is critical.
