Who won when Naruto and Sasuke fought Isshiki for the first time?
Using the connection between his Kama on Jigen and Kawaki, Isshiki forced a portal through it arriving at Naruto’s house with the intention of taking Kawaki away. He quickly noticed and watched suspiciously as one of Koji’s toads was incinerated before apologizing to Naruto for breaking into his house.
Naruto responded to his courtesy by attacking him; however, Isshiki was able to easily subdue him, making use of black stakes. In the anime, he similarly easily attacked and subdued two jōnin including Konohamaru Sarutobi. He then held Kawaki back and try to reason with him. After receiving a sudden kick from Naruto, Isshiki realized that he would not back down, activating Kama to start his fight against the Hokage with the intention of killing him for his interference.
Before starting the fight, Kawaki prepared to go with him on the condition that he didn’t touch the Hokage. Due to Naruto’s refusal, Isshiki had no choice but to transport himself to another world with the intention of leaving him stranded there, being stopped by the arrival of Sasuke Uchiha. In the anime, they had a short match, where Isshiki took advantage of Naruto’s inability to go all out due to having to protect the village, threatening to unleash a powerful attack, prompting Kawaki to agree to go with him.
Facing both shinobi, Isshiki used Kama to absorb chakra-based attacks, while also using his ability to shrink himself, dodge attacks, and impale his opponents with his black rods. However, the continued use of his fighting style allowed Sasuke, thanks to the Sharingan, to deduce the true nature of Isshiki’s ability, who complimented his deductive abilities before deciding that he would be the one he should delete first.
Naruto and Sasuke began to anticipate his attack patterns, pressing him to the point of forcing Isshiki to go on the defensive. Praising their performance, Isshiki thanked them for showing him his weaknesses, unleashing the full power of Kama. He declared that they would never have the same fate again.
Although Naruto was not impressed by the change in the appearance of Jigen’s body, Sasuke revealed his findings about Isshiki’s existence, his Ten-Tails, and his goal of draining all chakra from the planet, statements that made Isshiki furious when he realized that Sasuke had access to that place. Both shinobi proceeded to fight at full power, with the Hokage releasing Kurama and the Uchiha forming his Full Body — Susanoo.
However, despite the attacks from him, Isshiki easily and quickly dodged them and stripped the chakra avatars from them. Immediately afterward and despite the teamwork carried out by both, Isshiki used his black bars to impale them, as well as wear them down and hit them until they left them on the ground.
Suddenly, the black container in his abdomen began to visibly crack. Isshiki mocked the limits of Jigen’s body, reaffirming his desire for Kawaki. Deciding to end the match, Isshiki swiftly defeated and subdued both shinobi using his black slashes and causing a gigantic structure to appear in the sky. Isshiki stated that his battlefield was a sarcophagus that he would use to seal Naruto and Kurama while he planned to kill Sasuke, who managed to escape with Naruto’s help. Naruto mocked Isshiki for what had happened.
Kurama told him to stop, stating that from the beginning, Isshiki had never intended to kill him and that he should not give him an excuse to kill them both. Isshiki praised Kurama and commented that he had an interest in Boruto and his Kama before successfully sealing the Hokage. After shrinking the sarcophagus down to normal size, Isshiki complained about Jigen’s weakness before teleporting.
Who won when Naruto and Sasuke fought Isshiki the second time?
Isshiki beamed directly over Konoha to re-mark Kawaki with his Kama. On his way through the village and to his surprise, Isshiki was intercepted by Naruto, whom he demanded to hand over to Kawaki. Faced with the Hokage’s refusal, Isshiki began to shrink the village’s structures to destroy it, being attacked by Naruto, whom he overpowered and easily overcame.
Suddenly, Naruto was saved from Isshiki’s attack by Sasuke, who along with Naruto started attacking him with shurikens that Isshiki shrank. Ultimately, Sasuke threw his sword at him and due to Isshiki’s inability to shrink it, he revealed himself as Boruto, who used his Kama to transport himself and Isshiki to a place far away from Konoha.
Amazed at how Boruto was able to harness the power of Momoshiki’s Kama, Isshiki witnessed the arrival of Naruto and Sasuke. Isshiki took Boruto, intrigued as to how much power he could wield. Sasuke switched places with him and tried to attack him, however, Isshiki easily blocked him and kicked him to the ground.
He felt that if he presented Naruto and Sasuke’s bodies to the village, they would reveal the young man’s location to him. Continuing to fight Naruto, Isshiki held the upper hand until the latter began to work with Sasuke, leading him to release a series of giant black cubes. Ravaging the battlefield and hitting Sasuke with one of the cubes, Isshiki attacked and subdued him from close range and shrank his sword intending to use it to kill him, however, Boruto jumped forward forcing Isshiki to stop.
Boruto was able to get Sasuke to safety and, to Isshiki’s fury, he deduced that he couldn’t kill him. Despite Isshiki’s attempt to deny it, Boruto mentioned what Boro told him, about how his Kama would help Kara’s plans, causing the Ōtsutsuki anger at such carelessness of his subordinate. With Isshiki unable to deny that statement, Boruto threatened to kill himself with a kunai if he didn’t stop, however, Isshiki shrugged off the kunai, knocking Sasuke out with a powerful kick and his cubes, subduing Boruto by breaking his forearm in the process.
Isshiki explained to him that he would be eaten by the Ten-Tails to make the God Tree grow. Suddenly Naruto delivered a powerful kick to Isshiki who offered to let them go if he would reveal Kawaki’s location to him, however, Naruto decided to use Baryon Mode much to Isshiki’s surprise.
Resuming the fight, Isshiki found himself pressured and outmatched by Naruto who effectively dodged and countered his attacks, managing to stop one of his cubes and some black stakes thrown at him, leaving Isshiki stunned. When Naruto began to suffer from the effects of Baryon Mode, Isshiki realized his nature about shortening his life, however, once he began to vomit blood, he used his dōjutsu to confirm that the very hope of his life was reduced.
Recognizing that it was due to Naruto’s attacks, the Hokage continued to attack him until Isshiki restrained him trying to strangle him until he recognized Kawaki’s chakra coming from him. Taking advantage of the connection between the two, Isshiki used a portal to bring Kawaki to the battlefield.
Despite Kawaki’s attempt to escape, Isshiki quickly captured him, however, he was saved by Sasuke giving distance and buying time using a smoke bomb that prevented Isshiki’s Byakugan from seeing. Enraged, Isshiki decided to use Kawaki’s love for Naruto to make him leave, attacking him and stating that he would kill him if he didn’t show up.
Finally, Kawaki came out and attacked using ninjutsu learned from Naruto, however, Isshiki easily outmaneuvered and captured him, having a conversation where Isshiki merely belittled Kawaki’s attempts and growth. Isshiki then again recorded Kama on Kawaki, however, he was horrified to see her disappear.
Desperate to find out what happened, Isshiki’s body began to crumble and Kawaki revealed himself to be a Shadow Clone, with the original jumping on him, destroying his body. Isshiki’s soul ended up manifesting through Code’s White Kama, informing him of the events leading up to his death.
Isshiki tasked him with continuing the Ōtsutsuki will, asking him to feed the Ten-Tails to either Kawaki or Boruto and grow the God Tree, consume the fruit, become a new Ōtsutsuki, and continue to upgrade into a god. Accepting Isshiki’s request, and before finally disappearing, at Code’s request, Isshiki revealed to him the identities of the people who contributed to and led to his death.
