Naruto’s Momoshiki vs. Isshiki: Who Would Win in a Fight & Why?
The Ōtsutsuki Clan is one of the most powerful groups in the Naruto and Boruto series, and just when the original Naruto fans thought that they were done with the Ōtsutsuki Clan, Boruto brought the clan back, and they’re a threat to the protagonists once more. In this article, we are going to focus on the members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan as we are going to compare Momoshiki and Isshiki Ōtsutsuki to determine who the stronger of the two is and why that is like it is.
Both members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan are extremely powerful chakra wielders
Momoshiki, a Ōtsutsuki with powerful chakra, excels as a gifted Rasengan user and possesses the unique ability to absorb any encountered technique in an opponent’s chakra. His exceptional strength is demonstrated by effortlessly sending Naruto crashing through walls with a single powerful blow. Additionally, Momoshiki displays remarkable agility, swiftly evading enemy attacks. Upon absorbing Kinshiki’s power, he attains the ability to engage both Naruto and Sasuke simultaneously in intense hand-to-hand combat.
Isshiki, an incredibly resilient man, survived being cut in half and sought a new host. While inhabiting Jigen, he demonstrates remarkable unarmed combat skills, showcasing exceptional speed and strength. Possessing powerful chakra compared to Naruto’s Rikudō Sage Mode, even limiting himself instills terror, causing Ino Yamanaka to collapse.
Unleashing more power through Jigen’s Kama, his chakra intimidates Sasuke, prompting him to retreat, and disturbs both Sasuke and Naruto. Recognized by Amado and Isshiki himself, his massive chakra necessitates a suitable vessel, as rebirth in Jigen’s body would result in its demise within a few days, with three days being the estimated limit.
Both members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan are extremely powerful chakra wielders and they have enormous physical capabilities. This is why we could not decide on a clear winner here, and that is why we have decided to split the points.
Points: Momoshiki 1, Isshiki 1
Momoshiki possesses both the Byakugan and the Rinnegan
Momoshiki possessed the Byakugan in both of his eyes, which granted him 360-degree vision, as well as X-ray vision, which allowed him to see the Chakra Circulation System. Using it, he was able to observe Kurama’s Chakra sealed in Naruto. In the anime, Momoshiki used it to locate and hit Naruto’s tenketsu.
With these eyes, Momoshiki possessed a unique ability that allowed him to see the fate of other beings. However, it did not allow him to see his own fate. Momoshiki possessed the Rinnegan in the palms of his grayish-purple hands, which in the anime turned red when using his techniques.
With these eyes, he demonstrated the unique ability to absorb any kind of technique and make it his own through his right Rinnegan, as well as return the jutsu absorbed by it through his left with greater power thanks to his incredible chakra.
Isshiki uses the Sukunahikona, it is a dōjutsu that deploys the strength of the user facing the object he is looking at. This pupil has its own aspect and is present in Isshiki’s right eye. Any object he looks at is deported to a parallel dimension where time is stopped. After making an object disappear, if he needs to, he can use the Daikokuten secret technique to bring them back to the “normal world”. Isshiki also uses the Byakugan present in his left eye.
Thanks to the fact that he possesses both the Byakugan and the Rinnegan, Momoshiki ultimately gets this point.
Points: Momoshiki 2, Isshiki 1
Isshiki seems to be the better fighter
Due to his ability to absorb any type of Ninjutsu, Momoshiki could release them on a much larger scale. With this ability, he could create gigantic Tailed Beast Balls and greatly lengthen the range of Shadow Imitation Jutsu. In the anime, for his part, Momoshiki created a gigantic version of the Rasengan called the Crimson Spiral.
After absorbing Kinshiki, Momoshiki was shown to be able to use Kinshiki’s long, flowing hair as an improvised weapon to restrain the enemy and produce avatars of chakra from the ground to ensnare a target.
Thanks to his Rinnegan, Momoshiki was able to use the five basic natures of chakra, namely Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, and Water, easily by absorbing the elemental techniques of his enemies. With this, he could fire powerful flame and lightning projectiles that released strong electric shocks and create a gigantic golem that he was able to subdue Kurama.
Isshiki used the Chakra Absorption technique, which was powerful enough to absorb Sasuke’s Amaterasu, as well as levitation. Through the Inton, he communicated with other people using genjutsu. Isshiki’s staves were also capable of draining a victim’s chakra. He could use Space-Time Ninjutsu, able to access what seemed to be his personal dimension.
The crater-like battlefield formed a gigantic hermetic coffin, with its lid hanging above the clouds. By using an airtight container to perform a powerful fūinjutsu, he was able to seal Naruto inside. Only Isshiki himself could break the seal and split it, which would have destroyed everything inside.
Isshiki seems to be the better fighter of the two, as he has achieved greater feats during the narrative and has also fought much tougher opponents than Momoshiki. This is why he gets the point.
Points: Momoshiki 2, Isshiki 2
Isshiki’s Kāma is more potent
Momoshiki bestowed Kāma on Boruto before his spirit disappeared, making him his vessel, intending to resurrect. The mark grants Boruto a series of special abilities, as well as allowing Momoshiki to manifest through it for a certain period of time when Bouto expends a large amount of chakra, taking full control of his body.
When this occurs, Kāma marks spread across the right side of Boruto’s body, forming a horn and turning his right eye into a Byakugan. Momoshiki maintains Boruto’s knowledge of and access to techniques and is capable of absorbing chakra through the mark, as well as greatly empowering physical attacks and techniques. In the same way, he can open portals to travel between dimensions.
Isshiki possesses the ability to transmit Kāma, a seal containing a compressed backup of his biological data, to humans. This bestows his host with enhanced physical and chakra levels, along with the capacity to absorb chakra. When utilizing a Kāma-enhanced vessel, Isshiki exhibits extraordinary physical strength and agility, effortlessly evading attacks from Sasuke’s full Susanoo and Naruto’s Tailed Beast Mode. With just a few blows, he inflicts severe damage on both adversaries.
He is also resilient enough that Amaterasu’s burn does not harm him, even though he was able to harm even the Tailed Beasts by continuing to absorb it quietly. He is also able to connect between two targets that have his mark, in order to instantly teleport to his seal on another target.
Despite both of them having the same power, it seems that Isshiki’s Kāma is more potent and that he has used it better in the manga and anime, which is why he gets this point.

Now, the scores do show a difference, albeit a small one, and we think that they do reflect the actual balance of power.
