After the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the superhero world was rocked by allegations against Jonathan Majors.

Majors was introduced as He Who Remains in Loki Season 1 and as Kang the Conqueror in Quantumania, with plans to be the main villain for the Multiversal Saga.

Since then, Jonathan Majors’ career has taken a significant hit. He was arrested in March 2023 after being accused of assaulting a woman he reportedly knew, believed to be his girlfriend.

He was dropped from multiple projects, his manager and PR team left, and several commercials featuring him were pulled.

Despite this, Majors has maintained his innocence, with his legal team promising to prove it. They first released text messages between Majors and the alleged victim, but this move seemed to backfire, especially in the public’s eyes.

In December, Jonathan Majors was found guilty, leading Disney to fire him, which caused major changes within the franchise. As a result, Majors’ character, Kang the Conqueror, was completely replaced as the main villain by Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Majors was convicted on two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment. As a first-time offender with no prior criminal record, he was sentenced to complete a 52-week, in-person batterer’s intervention program in Los Angeles, where he lives.

While the legal case was ongoing, Grace Jabbari filed another lawsuit against Jonathan Majors, accusing him of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and defamation.

The defamation claim came from comments Majors made in a Good Morning America interview after his conviction, where he denied physically harming a woman. During the trial, Majors’ lawyer repeatedly accused Jabbari of lying about her injuries from the March 2023 incident.

However, Jabbari decided to drop the federal lawsuit, as confirmed by Deadline. In her original filing, Jabbari detailed alleged verbal and physical abuse by Majors throughout their relationship.

The civil lawsuit, which sought multiple damages, described a series of violent incidents beginning in 2021, during the filming of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in the UK.

The filing described assaults, name-calling, broken headphones, and self-blame, with the details becoming more graphic than what was shared during Majors’ trial last year.

After the filing went public, Chaudhry said it was expected and confirmed that Majors is preparing counterclaims against Jabbari. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office, which won Majors’ criminal case, declined to comment on the new legal action.

Earlier, after Robert Downey Jr.’s casting was announced, Majors expressed regret over losing the role and suggested that racism might have played a part in his firing. Even though the lawsuit was dropped, it’s unlikely Majors will return to the franchise, as he was already convicted and sentenced. The studio probably wants to distance itself from him.
