Mahito is a major villain in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and anime. An important member of Pseudo-Geto’s team of villains, Mahito caused trouble for the Jujutsu Sorcerers and is infamously known for causing the death of Nanami, which is why many fans hate him. He later fought Yuji, Nobara, and Aoi Todo, seemingly killing Nobara and almost killing Yuji in the process. However, during the infamous Shibuya Incident, Mahito was absorbed by Kenjaku via Geto’s original technique. Now, we ask ourselves – Kenjaku absorbed Mahito, but can he summon him as Geto did with his curses back in the day? Well, keep reading to find out.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • After Mahito’s loss to Yuji Itadori, Pseudo-Geto (Kenjaku) arrived to stop Yuji from killing Mahito, but only because he wanted to absorb Mahito using Geto’s original technique.
  • Geto’s Cursed Spirit Manipulation allowed him to absorb cursed spirits and then use their powers later as he wished, so Kenjaku did not want to see Mahito’s powers and abilities wasted in the series.
  • Based on how Geto manipulated his cursed spirits, it makes sense that Kenjaku could’ve also summoned Mahito and controlled him as Geto did with the other curses he had collected.

Kenjaku wanted Mahito’s abilities, so he absorbed him to use them

When Mahito killed Nanami in front of Yuji, the background story of this article began. The cursed spirit and Yuji engaged in a bloody battle after that, with no obvious winner. During their battle, Nobara was able to seriously harm Mahito’s clone, which also had an effect on the original body. Mahito then decided to team up with his clone, but not before he fooled Yuji into allowing him to touch Nobara’s face, seemingly killing the girl. By that time, Yuji was completely broken, and Mahito was about to kill him when Aoi Todo stepped in, when Yuji recovered his combat spirit, the two “brothers” engaged in combat with the cursed ghost.

Similar to the last battle, Mahito seemed to be cornered, yet it was a difficult encounter with no clear winner. He tried to divert Todo’s attention so he would leave the battle, but Todo quickly vanquished Mahito’s creations and joined the fight. Mahito, who is once again cornered, chooses to employ the all-or-nothing, 0.2-second Domain Expansion maneuver that he saw Gojo utilize. Even though he managed to come close to Aoi and chop off his hand, Todo was ultimately able to utilize his Boogie Woogie one last time, giving Yuji the upper hand. Mahito couldn’t win, not even after learning the true nature of his soul; Yuji beat him and was about to murder him when an odd thing happened.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Pseudo-Geto (Kenjaku) Does Kill Mahito & Here Is How!

Kenjaku arrived and absorbed Mahito after the latter tried to kill him; Kenjaku came and offered help to Mahito, but Mahito knew what it meant and tried to kill Kenjaku, as he did not want to be absorbed by him. But he failed, and Mahito used Geto’s Innate Technique to turn him into an orb and absorb him.

And while he extracted his power only once, we believe that he could’ve summoned him

Kenjaku absorbed Mahito because he wanted to preserve his powers. Mahito was a powerful cursed spirit, and Kenjaku wanted to put his powers to use later. And while he would “waste” them on his failed Maximum: Uzumaki, which Kusakabe annulled, we can still ask ourselves – could Kenjaku have summoned Mahito?

Now, we do know that Geto, the original user of the Cursed Spirit Manipulation technique, was able to use the curses he had collected in fights, taking advantage of their powers and abilities. Since Mahito was a cursed spirit and was absorbed by Pseudo-Geto using Geto’s ability, on a theoretical level, Pseudo-Gedo was able to actually use Mahito’s abilities in battle; Geto himself would’ve been able to do it, so there is no reason to think that Pseudo-Geto couldn’t have done it.

This is our answer, and this is what we think could have happened. There is no reason why Kenjaku, who was more powerful than Mahito, shouldn’t have been able to summon Mahito as Geto did with his curses, but while the answer seems to be obvious, we don’t actually know it for certain because such a situation never arose. As we’ve said, Kenjaku seemingly wasted Mahito on Maximum: Uzumaki, and since Kenjaku was apparently killed in the meantime, the chances of seeing Mahito again are basically zero. And this is all that we have to say about the issue at hand.
