As far as Jujutsu Kaisen ships are concerned, one of the often discussed characters in this category is Nobara Kugisaki, who is, incidentally, one of the most popular characters in the series as well. She is, as you know, the only female protagonist in the group, which is why she is so often mentioned in this aspect. In this article, we have decided to explain who Nobara’s love interest could be, i.e., whether there is any potential for a relationship between her end another character from the series.
As of the time of writing, Nobara Kugisaki is single and doesn’t seem to have a specific love interest in the series. She has a rather brash personality at first, but once you get closer to her, she can be quite nice and very emotional. Still, she is a great fighter, nevertheless. She has most often been coupled with Megumi and Itadori, but neither of these ships has been made canon, and seeing how Nobara’s fate is currently up in the air, it is unknown whether she will eventually end up with anyone in the story.
The rest of this article will explore the potential relationships of Nobara Kugisaki, one of the most popular characters in the series. We will explore Nobara’s personality in more detail, as well as some of the most popular ships involving her and the characters seen in Jujutsu Kaisen. This article won’t contain too many spoilers, but still, be careful how you approach it if you don’t know the whole story.
Nobara has a very specific personality, but once you get to know her, she can be really nice
As we always do in such articles, we are first going to tell you a bit about the character’s personality before continuing. Nobara is a young woman with a strong character who exudes confidence and bravado. Nobara is more than anything committed to upholding her moral standards no matter what.
She is quite proud of her “dual nature,” that of a beautiful girl and a formidable opponent, refusing to be swayed by anyone. Nobara can, at first, seem like a very rude and haughty person. As she introduced herself to Magumi and Itadori, she made it clear how inferior she thought of them.
Nobara is really loving and dedicated despite her gruff demeanor, but she won’t allow most people to actually observe that side of her personality. She also has a strong sense of duty and can be sympathetic. She will give up everything and sacrifice everything if it means saving lives. She knows what is essential to her and is not just striving to live a luxurious life.
Nobara was an opinionated individual who stood out among her peers in her home village, even as a young child. She despised the residents in her community and firmly decided to leave the rural setting for the big city.
Only foreigners who had settled in the village, such as Saori, attracted Nobara. She had a great deal of admiration for Saori and was devastated when the latter was made to leave her village. Nobara was deeply affected by Saori’s departure, which gave her even another excuse to leave the community because she yearned to see her again someday.
She is also a very devoted friend, disparaging and attacking anyone who doesn’t appreciate her allies. She also tends to become too emotional, as evidenced by the fact that she was devastated when Yuji passed away after the incident at the detention facility, crying when she learned he was still alive, and even apologizing to him.
Nobara’s potential love interests
In this section, we are going to discuss some of the more probable ships involving Nobara Kugisaki:
Itadori and Nobara are friends and classmates. Their personalities are quite similar in that aspect, as they’re both loud and extroverted, but they still manage to get on each other’s nerves from time to time, despite having such similar personalities. Initially, they weren’t that close, but their bond strengthened over time.
Nobara was sad when she thought Yuji died, and Yuji was destroyed by the fact that Nobara might not make it after the Shibuya Incident. If we had to pick one ship that makes the most sense in Nobara’s case, it would be Itadori, as it would fit traditional shonen tropes. But, Akutami is known for being able to surprise fans, so there is a chance that the series might take another approach to this friendship; we’ll just have to wait and see.
Megumi and Nobara are classmates and very good friends. Although they are essentially different from one another (Nobara is closer to Itadori in that regard), they also have a very strong foundation that serves as the basis of their friendship, as the story itself reveals.
They have a very dynamic connection. In that regard, we can see why fans were “shipping” the two of them, but as far as the canon tale is concerned, nothing indicates that Megumi and Nobara will eventually become a relationship. With this being a shonen work, Akutami might surprise us in the epilogue, but currently, we don’t know anything.
Due to his introverted nature, Megumi frequently irritates Nobara, while Nobara also frequently irritates Megumi due to her eccentric demeanor and frequent arguments with Itadori. They acknowledge their tragic pasts’ impact on who they are today and appreciate one another despite this.
They also care for each other, but it is only on a friendly level as of this moment. As we’ve said, we don’t know the direction in which this relationship will go, but we do know that their situation is, as of the time of writing, quite complex, as Nobara’s fate is unknown (she was seriously injured in the story and it is unknown whether she is going to survive – her chances are slim, as per the manga storyline), and Sukuna has possessed Megumi (and will have to face Satoru in that state, which leaves us with a lot of questions concerning Megumi’s fate post-battle, as we don’t really know whether Satoru will have to kill him), so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Saori is a character we have not seen too much of in the series, but she is Nobara’s childhood friend, and someone Nobara both idolized and liked when they were younger. Saori left their village because she felt like an outcast and moved to Tokyo to go to school there. Nobara has always spoken highly of Saori and has expressed her desire to see her once more, which has yet to happen, despite Saori being present later in the series.
Saori herself has admitted that she liked Nobara and the other girl from the village, but there is really nothing precise to indicate a possible romantic ship between the two of them. With Nobara’s situation up in the air, this is also something that is unlikely to happen.
