‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is one of the most highly anticipated upcoming MCU releases. It was voted the #1 most-awaited movie by Fandango audiences—and for good reason. The film will mark Sam Wilson’s first time leading a ‘Captain America’ movie and will introduce major villains like Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader and Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk.

Now Marvel Studios boss, Kevin Feige chimed in regarding his expectations for the movie. Feige wants ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ to fully establish Sam Wilson as the new Captain America. He believes fans already see Sam as the right choice, but this movie will reinforce that and bring him full acceptance in the role.

I think, in many ways, the victory has already happened, but it’s that full acceptance of Sam Wilson as Captain America, right? That shield has been passed, and it feels like the audience knows it was passed to the right person, and I think this movie will solidify that more.

Recently, the movie’s producer Nate Moore hinted that Wilson is ready to take over as the leader of the Avengers as well:

I think there’s never been an Avengers movie where there’s not a Captain America at the center of it, so this is about Sam Wilson showing the world that he is deserving of the mantle and why he’s both Captain America but not Steve Rogers.
