Now insider account The Hollywood Handle has amplified a new claim from industry leaker Daniel Richtman, better known as DanielRPK, stating that Brother Power will reportedly appear in ‘Man of Tomorrow.’ The post does not specify how the character factors into the plot or who might play him, but it has already racked up tens of thousands of views within hours of going live.

For anyone unfamiliar, Brother Power is about as far from a household name as DC characters get. The character was created by Joe Simon and first appeared in ‘Brother Power the Geek’ number one in October 1968, with the concept derived heavily from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. He began life as a mannequin left behind in an abandoned tailor shop, and a group of hippies dressed the dummy in old clothing before it was struck by lightning and brought to life with super strength.

The character’s original run was famously short lived. The self titled series lasted only two issues, and former DC editorial director Carmine Infantino claimed longtime Superman editor Mort Weisinger disliked the hippie subculture the book portrayed and pushed to have it shut down. Since then, Brother Power has mostly popped up in cameo roles, including a revival by Neil Gaiman and later appearances tied to the Swamp Thing corner of the DC Universe.
