Marvel Studios Is Reportedly Developing ‘Nova’ Project

After years of speculation, Richard Rider aka Nova might finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As reported by Deadline, Disney’s Marvel Studios began development on the project that will introduce Nova into the MCU. However, it’s not known if it’s gonna be a movie or tv series on Disney+, but the latter reportedly seems more likely.

According to the report, Sabir Pirzada, who recently worked on Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight, which is set to premiere in less than a week on Disney+, is on board to pen the script for the Nova project, and Kevin Feige, of course, serves as the producer.

Richard Rider, also known as Nova, is a member of the intergalactic police force known as Nova Corps, which gave him superhuman abilities, enhanced strength, flight, and resistance to injuries. The character was created by Marv Wolfman and John Romita Sr. and debuted in September 1976 in The Man Called Nova #1.

Marvel fans had theories about Nova’s debut in MCU for years now. We remember when Infinity War and Endgame were still the most anticipated movies in the last few years, and some even thought that Nova might kick in, which obviously didn’t happen. Some fans even theorized that Nova could appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but apparently, that movie won’t introduce more intergalactic beings apart from Adam Warlock, who will be portrayed by Will Poulter.

Apart from Marvel’s Moon Knight, the writer Sabir Pirzada previously also worked on Roswell, New Mexico, and the Person of Interest TV series. Not much more is known about the upcoming Nova project at this point, but stay tuned. We can’t wait for more information to be unveiled.
