New Reports Indicate When Wanda Will Return to the MCU—and How It’s Linked to Doctor Doom

Wanda was never just a character in the MCU; she started as a villain, transformed into a hero, and ultimately became a tragic figure with a poignant backstory. After experiencing immense loss, she returned to villainy but eventually found redemption by destroying the Darkhold and, reportedly, taking her own life.

The conclusion of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness raised numerous unanswered questions, and the official statements provided little clarity on whether Wanda still exists within the MCU.

Fans are eagerly anticipating Wanda’s return to the MCU, possibly in Agatha All Along or the upcoming Vision series. However, recent rumors suggest that her comeback may be delayed a bit longer.

Industry insider MyTimeToShineHello has shared that Scarlet Witch is set to return in Avengers: Doomsday, and she will have a significant role in the storyline.

As you may already know, Avengers: Doomsday will feature the rest of the MCU facing off against Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.

While it’s unclear which storyline the MCU will choose for this upcoming film, we can speculate that it might draw elements from the Children’s Crusade arc, especially given Wanda’s interactions with Doom in the comics.

This storyline has also been rumored to connect with Wiccan, who is expected to receive his own standalone series, which could potentially lead to a standalone movie for Scarlet Witch.

With Wiccan now part of the MCU, played by Joe Locke, the possibility of this rumor becoming a reality seems more plausible.

In The Children’s Crusade, the Young Avengers embark on a mission to locate and confront Scarlet Witch, whose reality-warping abilities caused significant chaos. Her actions in the Avengers Disassembled and House of M storylines had profound repercussions for the Marvel Universe.

So, what’s the connection to Doctor Doom? In this storyline, Doom tries to manipulate Wanda to achieve his own goals. He is particularly interested in her powers, viewing them as a way to gain even greater strength.

It’s likely that in Doomsday, Doom will attempt to capture Wanda and drain her abilities to prevent reality from collapsing due to incursions. He could acquire Scarlet Witch’s powers to create Battleworld, ultimately leading into Secret Wars.

Historically, Doom used the Beyonder’s powers to shatter reality and construct Battleworld, so it’s possible that Scarlet Witch could take on a similar role in the MCU, given her reality-warping abilities and her status as a Nexus Being.
