Paul Anthony Kelly and Brittany Snow Share Laughs on ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’ Set, Sparking New Theories

Lionsgate’s follow-up to its 2025 smash ‘The Housemaid’ has been filming across New Jersey all month, and ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’ set photos have kept fans busy speculating. After a steady stream of shots featuring Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst and Michele Morrone, attention is now turning to 2 of the sequel’s most intriguing newcomers.

The original film became a box office phenomenon, earning around $400 million worldwide, and director Paul Feig is back to continue Millie Calloway’s story. Lionsgate even confirmed production with a behind-the-scenes video showing Sweeney hugging Dunst, followed by the new cast members dancing in costume.

Now fresh set photos show Paul Anthony Kelly and Brittany Snow filming together on a city street lined with brownstone stoops. The pair appeared relaxed and in good spirits, with one frame capturing them laughing as Kelly casually rested his arm around Snow’s shoulder.

Kelly wore a dark navy peacoat over a denim-style shirt, while Snow bundled up in an olive tweed coat with a red patterned blouse and a large tote bag. The 2 were also photographed together on the New Jersey set earlier this month, suggesting their characters share a number of scenes.

Kelly plays Douglas Garrick, the wealthy husband of Dunst’s Wendy Garrick. Snow takes on the role of Marybeth, described as an unassuming receptionist at Douglas’ company. Exactly how their characters are connected hasn’t been revealed, so the friendly set photos raise more questions than they answer. That mystery fits right in with a story built around secrets and a locked door.

In the sequel, Millie takes a job keeping house for a woman she’s never allowed to see, only to uncover a truth that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own. Feig has teased that Dunst’s role will be very unexpected, adding even more intrigue to the Garrick household.

‘The Housemaid’s Secret’ marks Kelly’s feature film debut. The Canadian model and actor became a breakout name thanks to ‘Love Story’, in which he played John F. Kennedy Jr. His casting was announced in June 2026, and fans have been eager to see what he brings to the role of the wealthy husband. Judging by the set photos, he appears to be settling comfortably into the world of the franchise.

Snow, known for ‘Pitch Perfect’ and ‘The Hunting Wives’, revealed her casting with a playful social media video. In the clip, she walks into an office, sits behind a desk, and smiles while holding a copy of Freida McFadden’s novel, with the caption welcoming Marybeth home.

Feig welcomed her to the family in the comments, while Sweeney said she couldn’t be more excited. Snow also has experience behind the camera, having made her directorial debut with ‘Parachute’, which premiered at SXSW in 2023. Sweeney returns as Millie, with Morrone back as Enzo. ‘Off Campus’ star Stephen Kalyn has joined as Brock, Millie’s boyfriend, who is unaware of her criminal record.

Rebecca Sonnenshine, who wrote the first film, is back on screenwriting duties. The story adapts McFadden’s 2023 sequel novel, the second book in her trilogy, which wrapped up with ‘The Housemaid Is Watching’ in 2024.

‘The Housemaid’s Secret’ is set to hit theaters on December 17, 2027. That puts it on the same day as ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum’, making for a crowded holiday showdown.

Until then, every new set photo is fueling theories about who’s hiding what in the Garrick home. If Kelly and Snow’s easy chemistry is anything to go by, their characters may have more going on than meets the eye.
