Solo Leveling plot

At this moment, we do not know how far the first season of Solo Leveling could take us because we don’t know how many chapters of the manhwa series the season could potentially adapt, nor do we know if there are going to be any future seasons. Namely, due to a lack of information in general, we have absolutely no clue how far the show’s first season might go if it even happens. What follows is an overview of the original material to get a rough idea of what you could expect from the series.

In an alternate world, ten years before the events narrated, portals have begun to appear called “Gate,” which connect the real world with one populated by monsters. Some ordinary people have received powers that have increased their abilities, enabling them to hunt monsters within portals; these are the so-called “awakened,” and those who choose to fight are called “Hunter.” The acquired skills are permanent but not the same for everyone. In Seoul, the boy Jinwoo Sung after rebirth, becomes an E-rank Hunter, the lowest, and takes the path of a hunter to support his younger sister and to pay his mother’s medical bills.

Since Jinwoo is initially having a hard time even in lower-grade raids, Jinwoo is known as “humanity’s weakest weapon.” One day, having entered a low-grade dungeon with a party, he finds a second entrance inside leading to a dangerous S-grade area. Deciding to enter, unaware of the danger and not having the possibility to escape, the protagonist finds himself hanging between life and death and forced, in front of a mysterious system screen, to choose whether to be reborn as a “Player” or die together with his companions.
