Speculations Emerge: Another MCU Series Set for Second Season as Hawkeye Takes Center Stage

Jeremy Renner’s portrayal of Hawkeye has garnered a significant fan following within the MCU. While his last live-action appearance was in the ‘Hawkeye’ series, he recently lent his voice to ‘What If…?’ Season 2 Episode ‘What If…Happy Hogan Saved Christmas.’
Typically, Disney+ shows don’t receive second seasons, except for ‘Loki,’ which saw its second season surpass the first. However, it appears that another MCU show will join the ranks of those receiving a second season: ‘Hawkeye.’
Reportedly, ‘Hawkeye’ is set to return for a second season, with Clint’s brother, Barney, poised to play a pivotal role. Drawing inspiration from The Raid, the season will confine Kate and Clint to a single location.
If you’ve been wondering why Hawkeye has been absent from the MCU for so long, you’re not alone. It’s been quite a hiatus since his last appearance, with the torch seemingly passed to Kate Bishop. But there’s more to the story. Jeremy Renner, the actor behind Hawkeye, faced a harrowing incident just over a year ago.
On January 1, 2023, Renner suffered a grave accident at home involving his snowplow, resulting in severe chest trauma and a staggering 30 broken bones. The weighty snowplow, tipping the scales at 14,330 pounds, rolled over him, leading to a swift hospitalization. Rushed to Renown Regional Medical Center, he underwent extensive surgery and remained in critical condition in the intensive care unit. Miraculously, on January 17, he was discharged and sent home to recover. It wasn’t until ten weeks later that he began the arduous journey of walking again, aided by a cane. Doctors credited his survival to his remarkable health and fitness.
In a recent revelation, it came to light that Renner was clinically dead upon receiving medical attention during the ordeal.
Yet, aside from the glaring issue of the lengthy hiatus, there seem to be no substantial reasons why Hawkeye couldn’t or shouldn’t make a comeback in the MCU. Jeremy Renner himself has voiced his readiness to return, citing his regained strength. Furthermore, Hawkeye’s retirement has been a recurring theme, with the character stepping back multiple times only to resurface later. It’s become somewhat of a pattern. What’s your take on this?
