‘Spider-Man 4’ Script Still in the Works According to Rumors: Two Notable Villains Removed From the Original Draft!

‘Spider-Man 4’ was officially announced to be in development last year, though details remain scarce. What is confirmed is that Tom Holland and Zendaya will reprise their roles, with Destin Daniel Cretton set to direct.

Before the movie’s development was confirmed, rumors suggested it was torn between two directions: a Multiversal storyline continuing from ‘No Way Home’ or a grounded, street-level narrative featuring Daredevil and Kingpin.

After Robert Downey Jr. was confirmed to return to the MCU as Doctor Doom, Marvel Studios reportedly chose to pursue the Multiversal storyline.

Rumors and insider reports stated plenty of conflicting details regarding the current state of the movie and plenty of villains. From the return of Green Goblin, Dock Ock, and Knull to Scorpion, Shocker, and even Hobgoblin. Logic stated that not all of these rumors could be true and it seems that the two villains are officially out of the picture.

Industry insider Daniel Richtman recently revealed his insights regarding the current state of the script. The script for ‘Spider-Man 4’ is still being rewritten. The original version, which was scrapped, included villains Scorpion and Shocker.

The rumors that Scorpion would be in the movie resurfaced less than 3 months ago when the studio was reportedly casting two roles related to villains for the upcoming movie, however at the time everyone assumed that Scorpion and Vulture were the villains in question.

A few weeks ago MTTSH reported that the script for ‘Spider-Man 4’ is being completely rewritten and might start from scratch. Tom Holland likes the story, but Kevin Feige isn’t happy with it, causing delays as they make major changes. The script won’t be ready anytime soon.
