Vin Diesel Just Confirmed ‘Fast Forever’ Cameras Are Finally Rolling
The ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise has always thrived on spectacle, family, and impossible stunts, but the road to its final chapter has tested even the most devoted fans. After ‘Fast X’ hit theaters in 2023, the sequel meant to close out the saga faced years of delays, leaving the fanbase in limbo. Just a few weeks earlier, star Jordana Brewster admitted she had no timeline for production and was largely waiting to hear updates online herself.
That uncertainty has now lifted. Vin Diesel took to social media confirming he is officially on set for ‘Fast Forever,’ announcing that filming is underway on the final mainline installment in the action franchise. The update arrived through a behind the scenes video that quickly spread among fans eager for any sign of movement on the long delayed project.
In the clip, Diesel described the atmosphere on set, saying people were grinding and that incredible crews were working hard to bring the film together. He also took a moment to address the people who have stuck with the franchise through the wait. Diesel thanked fans directly, calling them the best audience and the best fans in the world.
The actor did not shy away from acknowledging just how long the wait has been. He noted that fans have been patient with the industry, the studio, and with him personally over the past three and a half years of work put into the project. He then added that the team has been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale, a phrase that has since become the defining line of this production update.
Diesel’s message also touched on his packed slate outside ‘Dominic Toretto.’ He referenced other roles he has taken on, including Colder and Riddick, along with the detective character he has played, and mentioned writing the script for Rock’Em Sock’Em, a project he sounded excited about. Fans watching the video have zeroed in on the garage setting and the vehicles glimpsed in the background as possible clues for what is to come.
The footage appears to have been filmed in a garage with a car taking up much of the frame, and it is difficult to confirm from the angle whether the vehicle is Dom’s legendary 1970 Dodge Charger, a car that has appeared throughout the franchise in various forms. Diesel has also teased that the franchise’s final chapter will lean back into practical car racing after some of the more CGI heavy sequences seen in recent entries.
As for what audiences can expect once the cameras stop rolling, plenty remains under wraps. Fans can likely expect franchise regulars like Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, and Sung Kang to return, alongside ‘Fast X’ additions such as Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlize Theron, and Brie Larson. ‘Fast Forever’ currently has a release date set for March 17, 2028.
